Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most repeated praise, with reviewers singling out the sirloin of beef, turkey dinner, and the massive Yorkshire puddings alongside generous veg and gravy described as "to die for." Close behind, the steak and kidney pudding, Cumberland sausage and scampi, and the Sizzling Duck Platter get named as standouts, and a Coeliac diner notes that anything battered, including the chips, is gluten free. Portions are repeatedly called large and good value, with one couple paying £74 for two mains, two puddings and four drinks. Staff across visits are described as friendly, attentive and helpful, and the fireplace-lit, decorated interior earns steady mentions as clean and welcoming. The only recurring gripe is a wish for more real ales on the menu, and one visitor found the place surprisingly quiet despite feeling it deserved to be busier. Several reviewers say they plan to return, one making it their family's new Christmas tradition.

“We had a wonderful experience here! The staff were very pleasant, polite, and attentive. They communicated so well with each other and were genuinely respectful and friendly, it was lovely to see. The food was excellent. We had the steak and kidney pudding, and it was traditional heaven, served with fresh, delicious chips! The place is clean, beautifully decorated, and has such a lovely atmosphere. A big shout-out to the owners and the whole team for creating such a welcoming place. Music was also great, just the right volume, so you could comfortably have a conversation while still enjoying some great hits! Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!”
