Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food as delicious and tasty, singling out the salt and pepper dishes, the hot and sour soup, the Thai red chicken curry, the complimentary prawn crackers and three different chicken dishes with sides big enough to share. Close behind is the friendly, welcoming and quick service, with one waitress credited for handling dietary requirements and staff said to have calmly dealt with a rude customer nearby. A few also mention a cosy atmosphere and a clean dining room, and one party arriving late was still seated. One lukewarm review calls most dishes just ok. The sharpest complaint is rigidity over the banquet for two. One diner with a sweetcorn allergy was refused a swap of one soup, with no manager present, and described thin prawn toast, satay chicken skewers with no satay sauce and a king prawn dish with only four prawns. Another diner was likewise told a banquet dish could not be swapped, which left one dish uneaten.

“AMAZING wow pretty much the best Chinese we have had! We came from yorkshire for a wedding so was late by 30 mins for our table unfortunately but they still accommodated us! There were 5 of us had a good array from the menu. Blown us away the salt n pepper were unreal I'm gutted we didn't try the hasbrowns but we will travel another 2.5 hours next year and stay over to come back to this Chinese!! The staff were helpful too thanks 😊”

“Lovely food as always and exceptional service from wait staff. The young waitress in particular was fantastic with us and our dietary requirements! The standard of food was good and delivered in a reasonable timeframe, given how busy the restaurant was on a bank holiday weekend. Really pleasant atmosphere, aside from one rude customer nearby who appeared to be wanting to start an argument. Not the fault of the restaurant from what I could gather. Wait staff handled it well, fairly and calmly. Which was commendable given how rude the customer was being!! Overall, I would definitely visit again. I need to try other items on the menu. The dishes being given to other tables looked delicious too. We will be back! Thankyou for a lovely evening”

“Staying locally so as we love Chinese we called a few days before to book a table. Got there served with drinks not long after sitting down. Looked on the menu and decided on the banquet for 2. Soups hot and sour or chicken and sweetcorn so ordered one of each as one of us has an allergy to sweetcorn. Then changed one of the mains. All seemed good until 5 minutes later one of the staff came over and said we both had to have the same soup. Explained I couldn’t eat the chicken and sweetcorn soup due to an allergy and the person I was with just doesn’t like spicy food. I asked under the circumstances could the change not be considered answer was no. Asked if I could speak to the manager. Not possible because they weren’t there. A busy Saturday evening on a bank holiday and no manager in the restaurant. The conversation with the waitress was getting a bit heated due to frustration that they wouldn’t change one soup. I asked where it stated on the menu that you couldn’t make changes or have one of each soup. Answer was it doesn’t I’m just telling you. The bill was going to be over £100 for 2 people and they wouldn’t change rather we walk out than make a small change. In this day and age restaurants in general are needing customers to help survive. So I find it odd restaurants can afford to have a table leave. What I would say is that if you want to go and eat somewhere where even if you are spending a large amount of money they is no flexibility to change the“rules” even due to an allergy then this is the place for you! If it hadn’t been for the fact it was a Saturday evening and it would be hard to find a table anywhere we would have walked out. Food not fantastic. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was very thick with little taste as the other person said. Couldn’t tell you about the hot and sour as I wasn’t allowed it. Mixed starters came and the prawn toast was so thin you couldn’t see the prawn mixture. Satay chicken skewers with no satay sauce. Mains king prawn and mushroom 4 prawns and a load of mushrooms to make the dish look bigger. Mains tasted nice but rest pretty poor.”
