  “We visited Aspava yesterday after finishing our days walk quite late. Staff greeted us at the front door and despite the late hour were so accommodating! Fantastic range of menu, truly delicious food and such friendly and genuine staff made it a lovely experience. My husband feels the lamb chops are the best he’s ever eaten, and the orange Creme Brûlée is for sure the best we’ve both eaten! Honourable mention to the honey cake, this was also excellent! Thanks again and we would love to return when we’re back in the area!”

  “Highly Recommended – A Fantastic Dining Experience! We had a wonderful meal at Aspava Turkish restaurant in Cockermouth. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. We ordered the sharing platter, and it was delicious. The absolute standout of the night was the lamb chops—cooked perfectly and packed with flavour! We also saved room for dessert, which was equally delicious and the perfect end to our meal. If you are in Cockermouth, this place is highly recommended! We will definitely be back.”

  “The food was good, but the portion sizes were smaller than expected. We ordered both food and drinks, and I simply asked for some ice for my own drink. Instead of responding politely, the owner gave us a lecture about bringing outside drinks. There was no notice or sign stating that outside drinks were not allowed. If this is the restaurant's policy, it should be clearly communicated to customers in advance. I was very disappointed by the owner's attitude. Good customer service is just as important as good food, and unfortunately, this experience ruined my meal. I left feeling upset and disappointed.”

  “We had a large party of 19, we pre ordered our food, but never felt rushed. Our drinks came as ordered and food followed but not too quickly still giving us time to relax and chat. The food was fabulous,authentic and not at all pre cooked. We were even allowed to pay individually and the staff were very attentive and lovely”

  “I was was impressed with the excellent service & atmosphere. It was also very busy on a Monday evening in early May. The food was tasty too. I tried the lamb shish kebab with rice and salad. The portion size was just about right. The minced lamb with vegetables and egg was great. I liked the bottled Efes Draft and the glass of fruity Turkish red wine. The upstairs dinning area is well decorated albeit a bit cramped. Perfect location in centre of old quarter of town.”

  “I stay in the area reasonably regularly for work and this is my absolute favourite place in Cockermouth to eat. Great service and fresh delicious food. Good size portions.”

  “Excellent Turkish restaurant in the heart of the delightful Cumbrian town of Cockermouth. This was our first visit, we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, we enjoyed chicken kebabs and two desserts. The chicken was tender, nicely cooked and the flavours unique. The desserts were beautiful, very much melt in your mouth stuff. The staff were very friendly and service was quick on the day we visited with a couple of other tables occupied. In all very nice food. Free parking on street. Lovely location. Not the cheapest, but very much worth the money.”

  “Very nice Turkish restaurant. We had Ali Nazik Kebab and Adana Kebab, and baklava. All really tasty. The staff is friendly and served us quickly. Turkish music at the background. We'll come again.”
