  “Just eaten here tonight after newly opening, food was great we had steak a burger and Katsu chicken and Rice was spot on 👌🏻 the best was the cherry Bakewell cocktail the girl that made it was her first time making it and it was amazing would 💯 recommend. The staff were under pressure but we had nothing to complain about. Michelle and family x”

  “Four of us had a meal here today, Sunday 22 Mar. The food was nicely presented, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The roast meats were very tender, tasty and plentiful. The desserts were delicious too. The reason for only 4 stars for service was because we waited rather a long time for our drinks after we'd finished our meal. We understand it was very busy, but felt we shouldn't have had to ask if we'd been overlooked. Other than that minor glitch, we all had a lovely meal. Zac, Mell and Morgan are lovely people and nothing was too much for them. We all agree that we will be back for more. Tuesday 31 March - we made another visit today with 3 of us. It was a quieter visit than previously, possibly as it was a week day rather than a weekend. Paul was our server and he was an absolute star! He has a brilliant sense of humour and joined in having a laugh with us, which was lovely. Once again the food was great and the service was brilliant. Everything about our evening was lovely and a great ending to my husband's birthday. Thank you Paul and the young lady, whose name I didn't catch, who served us with our drinks towards the end of the evening.”

  “Family of 4 adults £151 1 main meal for 4 of us all and 3 starters and 6 drinks 1 non alcoholic The food was incredible all of our meats&fish were cooked perfect, service couldn't ask for nicer staff very attentive. The pub its self very beautiful we arrived at 6 it wasnt a long wait for food either. Did start to get busy but didn't affect it.”

  “Popped to The Robin Hood for Father’s Day, thinking we’d try the set dinner. What an absolute shambles. The starters were ok, but the main course (beef and turkey) were served stone cold. The staff offered to replace them, but what came later was just as bad. Frozen potatoes, hard vegetables, gristly meat… Nothing was at all decent. We decided to skip dessert, as the staff left us waiting for over half an hour. The toilets are filthy. We most certainly won’t return and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The Robin Hood has to be among the worst eating places in Clacton.”

  “An absolute TREAT, first we were greeted by the manager Rhys, and then introduced to our server who was a delightful, friendly polite young man, Ensured that all dietary needs were met. The food was incredible. Fresh and so tasty, we order the lamb share platter, Iv never tasted food as good as this, by far the best roast dinner Iv ever had. The charming and rural setting of the restaurant was an added bonus and really enhances the chilled atmosphere. We will no longer go anywhere else for a roast dinner again. But we will definately be back here, we’ve even booked for Christmas Day. Thankyou all so much for a pleasant Easter Sunday, Gethan and Andrew x”

  “I ordered a roast from here on 29/02/26 and the whole experience was disappointing. - Vegetables: cooked to the point of mush — genuinely “care home” soft. - Pork belly: so small it could’ve passed for a matchbox. - Beef: grey. Usually a sign of the meat being previously frozen. This isn't an accusation, but it's very likely - White meat, probably chicken was very dry, bit edible. - The Yorkshire pudding: Good. - The gravy: good. When I raised the issue, I was told the food “wasn’t theirs,” essentially accusing me of making it up. For clarity: I watched the Uber driver go directly to the pub, collect the order, and deliver it to me. The box even arrived sealed with their own branded sticker. All of this for £32. If you're wondering why the Uber proof of delivery shows a small price, it's because they didn't refund the delivery fee, because it was successfully delivered. I don't have an argument with that.”

  “Booked a table for a family meal. Our server was Wren and we were so happy with the outstanding service she provided us! We were also happy to see that she still works at the Robin Hood after they have new management. The food was all delicious and cooked to perfection. The service from Wren was exceptional ☺️ Would definitely recommend eating here. Lovely atmosphere and service as always!”

  “Staff were very friendly even when busy very polite and well mannered wait times were great and food was 100% worth the money we will definitely be a returning customer wonderful atmosphere very friendly and relaxed and check backs were amazing would highly recommend giving this venue a try so far best restaurant locally yet. The manager was very friendly and welcoming and gave a great service overall throughout our visit.”

  “Haven’t been here for over a year, but hubby booked a date night and it turned into such a lovely evening. The meal was outstanding — I had the chicken pie and hubby chose the schnitzel. Both dishes were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Our waitress Kelsey was absolutely amazing — so friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she really made us feel welcome. Her service truly added that extra special touch to our night. A wonderful evening all round — we’ll definitely be back!”

  “Absolutely incredible from entry all the way through to our dinner service. Zacc was so warm and inviting and so funny when we requested Rose champagne. I was instantly welcomed and relaxed that represents a great front of the house welcome. We then preceded to sit down for dinner and again had the fortunate welcomed and support from Zacc who talked us through the memory with great advice and positivity towards our food orders. The service was spot on with timing and continued check in for drinks and service. The food was amazing and price for all good. The best we have had for a long time and hope this continues. We have rebooked for next month and thank you Zacc much appreciation.”
