About La Passione
La Passione is an Italian restaurant at 27 Castle St in Cirencester, open daily. The menu is built around seafood, including mussels, frutti di mare and prawn risotto. Pasta and pizza share the list with the seafood plates, and both starters and mains are offered, so a table can order a full meal in courses. The team speaks Italian with guests, which suits diners who want to order in the language of the menu. The restaurant is often fully booked.

Customer Review Summary
Pasta draws the most praise, with diners naming the linguine frutti di mare, the spaghetti with mussels and the carbonara as delicious, while pizza, including a pepperoni pizza rossa, comes close behind. Others single out the artichoke hearts as the best one reviewer had ever had, and a risotto with fresh, juicy prawns that were not overcooked. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and one reviewer says the restaurant works well for Italians who do not speak English. Complaints are minor and specific. One diner found many broken shells in the mussel pasta and wanted more than two meatballs, another did not enjoy the garlic bread because it differed from what they expected, and a third wanted more wine choice by the glass. Several describe a packed or fully booked room, and one reviewer says reservations are very recommended. One family reports that the kitchen tailored their dishes to gluten, dairy, nut and sesame free requirements.

“Lovely italian restaurant. place was absolutely packed when we went in, so we had to sit on the upper floor. Reservations are VERY recommended. Our food was super delicious, I very much liked my Spaghetti pasta with Mussels. One feedback I would like to say is that there were many broken shells inside the pasta, but the flavor and overall dish was still on point. also maybe a couple more meatballs as well instead of just 2 😂. But it was a lovely dinner! I’m very happy and satisfied with my meal :) I liked the pizza a lot”

“Absolutely beautiful food! We came in on a Sunday night as a family of 5 and there was a great ambience, server was very friendly and attended to everything we needed. We had 5 different starters and 5 mains and couldn’t fault any dish, food was 10/10. Price was very reasonable too!”
