Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the view over the Carrickfergus marina, with several describing window tables or outdoor seating and a stunning outlook. The food comes close behind. Short ribs are called tender and flavourful, and halibut, creamy chicken, salted and chilli squid, fish and chips, pan-fried salmon and a brunch of mushrooms on sourdough with poached eggs also earn praise. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, and a few call the prices reasonable for the location. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One diner on a bank holiday and another on a Friday night noted a wait, and a third said food was slow coming out. One reviewer found the room noisy and warm. Specific food criticisms include hand cut chips that were more like overdone wedges, a dry burger patty, and a salmon that one reviewer said had a strong smell. Another diner couldn't finish the ribs, which were beautiful but too much.

“Our family recently had another fantastic meal in the Windrose Carrickfergus. We love eating out locally and I can honestly say that this was one of the top meals we have had in recent times. The young guys who served us throughout the night were extremely helpful and pleasant aswell. Great food and also reasonably priced for the area and location. We will definitely be back soon. 👍👍👍👍👍”

“Ended up here as another restaurant was fully booked in the town. It was busy due to it being a bank holiday but they were able to fit us in. There is a great deal of choice on the menu. We had the Chicken Burger and Gammon. Reasonably priced, food was great apart from the hand cut chips which were more like overdone wedges but was stuffed after the rest of the food it didn't matter. There was a bit of a wait on service due to how busy it was so didn't really matter but also quite noisy and warm. (heating could have been turned down).”

“Great menu, lots to chose from and lovely. Looks out over the marina. Staff were very friendly. 4 stars for service which I thought was a bit slow, but it was quite busy, Friday night, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They have started to do breakfast, menu attached, looks nice, will try it out sometime”
