About Mr Latte's
Mr Latte's is a coffee shop at 62 Pen-Y-Lan Rd in Cardiff that welcomes dogs. Owners can order a "pup cup" for their dog, and blankets and heaters at the seating area give people and dogs somewhere to settle with a drink. The breakfast bap, filled with bacon or sausage, comes as a set breakfast deal. For something sweet, the kitchen serves marmalade chocolate fudge cake alongside the coffee. Meat pies are also on the menu for a more filling stop.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly come for the drinks and cake, with the hot chocolate named most often, praised as the finest by one daily regular and ordered alongside an iced caramel latte and an iced latte by others. Close behind is the marmalade chocolate fudge cake, described as a unique flavour, while one reviewer singles out the meat pies as addictive. A medium roast latte and a bacon roll also get a mention. Many describe a friendly, relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, quick service and kind staff, and the dog-friendly setup is a repeated draw, including saying hello to other customers' dogs at the outdoor seating. The recurring complaint comes from the breakfast baps. Two reviewers found the coffee luke warm and the bacon barely cooked, and one described sausages dripping in fat and a long wait for food. Both also say the place became packed and loud once a large group arrived, with drinks spilled and tables bumped. One reviewer who got a pup cup with the order still called the breakfast disappointing.

“Wanted to try the £5 breakfast before my dog walk this morning was not expecting much for £5 but I was very disappointed. Ordered 2 breakfast baps with upgraded coffees and a pup cup. We got there and found a seat was a nice touch of blankets and heaters however within minutes of getting there the place was swarmed with people and made it unbearable to sit. When the drinks finally arrived they were luke warm and served in cups you could not even get your pinky in to pick up. After another 10 minutes (we had been here 20 minutes by this point) 2 sad breakfast baps were served. The bacon was barely cooked and the sausages were dripping in fat but looked anemic. For all the hype we have seen for this local place we were bitterly disappointed and like others have said there are far superior places just around the corner that also welcome dogs. Staff were friendly enough but the food and atmosphere is enough to put me off returning.”
