Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the dog-friendly welcome, with a dog-themed menu that includes the pupaccinno and "The Pup" alongside doggo biscuits, just down the road from Roath park. Close behind are the sourdough toast with salted Welsh butter and jam or marmalade, the Welsh cakes, the cinnamon bun and the chocolate cookie, with the Americano, matcha and peach iced tea also named. Many describe it as a good spot for working or studying, with plenty of seating, plug sockets and laptop space. The recurring complaints are about busyness and cost. Several say it gets very busy and slow, especially at weekends, with queues, and a few find the drinks, cakes and sandwiches pricey, one calling the cakes too sweet. One reviewer says the Wi-Fi turns slow after lunch, which made working there frustrating, and another says several phone calls and an email to the Roath branch went unanswered for a week. One calls the coffee nice but not the best in the area, while another says it beats the competition.

“Used a few of the Coffee Labs and always found them to be good all rounders . Unfortunately , needed to contact the Roath branch recently regards a query and after several unanswered phone calls over 2 days and an email , I’ve yet to get any response a week later . Just feel service should go beyond the counter .”

“Lovely visit as always. Just love popping here when I’m in Cardiff visiting friends. Keep doing what you do best guys 🩷 ps. The cinnamon bun was mind blowing good 👌”

“Absolutely love this coffee place. But somehow every time I’ve been there, post lunch the wifi is horrendous. As if the network stops working properly after noon. And no, it’s not necessarily because there are many more people. I’ve worked from my laptop here more too many times. An easy quick IP lookup shows how the internet traffic is slow post lunch. Imagine coming here to do some work, only to find out there is no proper internet access. Utterly frustrating.”

“A dog friendly cafe just down the road from Roath park, so perfect when walking your pooch. Not just dog friendly, it's dog themed, but it's a classy and quality coffee shop that just happens to welcome dogs. Betty loved the pupaccinno 🐕”

“A nice cafe with an excellent selection of drinks and cakes/pastries. Also a wide selection of sandwiches are available. Great place to bring the dog as he gets spoiled with options like 'The Pup' and doggo biscuits. Only complaint as can get very busy, especially on weekends. So expect to queue on these days. Also coffee is nice but not the best in area.”
