  “This is the absolute BEST Chinese going. The customer service is AMAZING I always call for a delivery and every person who has ever answered the phone has been so lovely. And they are so accommodating with allergies etc. I can’t have the soy sauce due to gluten so they made me a chicken fried rice with peas completely plain without soy sauce. On top of this the price is extremely reasonable. This is the absolute best takeout ever!!!”

  “Don’t order the sweet & sour pork balls they no longer use pieces of pork but some sort of dried out powdery mince that me & everyone else spat back out onto our plates uneattable - couldn’t eat the rest of our meal went in the bin”

  “Food is really tasty and a good variety. Prices are pretty reasonable. The only small issue, is if you phone an order for collection, you are always told 15-20 minutes despite it often being longer when you get there. However, the food is always hot and tasty so we'll keep using the Golden Star.”

( I hope that's right)😁 What a friendly person, Even when I called back to order more food that i had forgotten to ask for (sorry) , he was so polite and professional about it!   “This takeaway was taken over from the old owners. I used to ring up and discuss what dishes are suitable for vegans and they would be able to find out or know what is suitable. After ringing today for the first time since the place was under new management I was not able to find out what was suitable and they weren't able to take my order. To be fair, the person on the phone was polite and tried their best but wasn't knowledgeable about the ingredients. Knowledge or the ability to find out should be standard in food establishments due to the law regarding major allergens.”

  “Ordered on the phone polite gent on the end took our order. Food was ready in 10 mins, Very generous portions plenty of meat and very good flavour. Tasted amazing will definitely come again and recommend We ordered duck rice ( it had loads of duck in it amazing for the price) The pork chop suey was loaded to the brim with pork Duck and vegetables was again full of duck and brilliant tasting Cheers James”

  “I recently moved to the area and I'm glad to have found this superb neighbourhood Chinese takeaway. I've now had several takeaways (all off the Chinese menu) and they have all been excellent. Prices very reasonable. I've always ordered over the phone and the food has always been hot and ready at the agreed pickup time. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.”
