Customer Review Summary
The cooked breakfast is what most reviewers come for, and opinions on it split sharply. Supporters describe the small, medium and extra large plates as delicious, served hot, generously portioned and good value, and a regular praises the bacon sandwich for takeaway. One adds that the coffee is instant but made with milk. Critics describe the same kind of food as cheap and greasy: bacon undercooked and mostly fat, sandwiches on soggy bread, a thin, dry burger with overcooked chips and a salad of a few iceberg leaves. One reviewer says their clothes smelled of fat afterward. Service is also mixed. Some find it friendly and attentive, while others describe a long wait to be served while staff chatted with regulars, and staff who looked miserable. One larger diner found the fixed seats a tight squeeze. Fried bread appears on both sides of the divide, crispy and not fatty for one diner, and soggy under the tomato for another.

“Incredible value for money. Went for the medium Breakfast for £5.80 it includes 2 Bacon Rashers, 2 Sausages, Egg, Beans and Tomatoes. Choice of a slice of toast or Fried Bread. Coffee or Tea. Check out the picture, excellent portion size too. The coffee was instant but made with milk. Staff very attentive and would thoroughly recommend you try. The Station Cafe only accepts cash.”

“Cash only. Cheap produce, poorly cooked. I had burger and chips. Burger was thin, dry and tasteless. Chips were over cooked, so were hard with zero potato evident. The so-called salad was a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and 3 half slices of cucumber. The only 'enjoyable' item was the Aldi 'luxury' coleslaw. I had one sip of the 'breakfast tea'; it was cheap and tasted nasty. If you don't mind tasteless, cheap food, then this is the place for you. Although I prefer to support independents, in this case, I'll stick with Tesco, over the road.”

“I called in the other day to pick a Bacon sandwich up for my dear old mum, this isn't the first time I have been here by far but each time you get some proper nosh and a friendly service. Nothing to fault here. Long may it continue.”

“Service was really slow before they took my order. There is a friendly atmosphere with well known regular customers but if you are a new face it seems they don't hurry up to serve you and make you wait whilst they cobtinue a conversation with the customer infront. When they do get to you it is acceptable and pleasant. Its been some years since I have been to this cafe. The food was greasy and tasted cheap and nasty and for what I paid I should have gone to wetherspoons. Since arriving home I have also noticed my clothes stink of fat. I was only in there 15 minutes. Overall I was really disappointed with my visit and shall not be returning.”
