Quick info
About Standeford Cafe
Standeford Cafe sits on Standeford Road in Wolverhampton and works as both a truck stop and a cafe, with drivers parking up overnight and settling with the staff inside. The yard is covered by CCTV and dog patrols, and new toilet and shower blocks have replaced the older facilities, with showers released by token and the ladies' side set up as a large cubicle with a toilet in it. The kitchen keeps to a short menu, with breakfasts the regular order and fried bread cooked on the hot plate rather than in oil. Passing visitors stop in for a mug of tea without needing a lorry. Outdoor seating gives the option of eating in the open air, a step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and dogs are welcome. The truck park is compact, with vehicles fitted in close together, and the car park surface is uneven. It opens Monday to Friday and closes at weekends, and booking ahead is recommended.

Customer Review Summary
The cooked breakfast is what brings drivers back, singled out repeatedly for generous portions and, in one account, fried bread crisped on the hot plate without oil rather than soaked in fat. Close behind is the overnight truck parking, described as quiet, secure and tightly choreographed to fit more wagons, with CCTV and dog patrols noted, and several mention paying inside the cafe and receiving a voucher off a meal. Staff are consistently called friendly and welcoming, with one coeliac visitor saying they were easily accommodated and another crediting the owners with sorting out parking and food late in the day. The clearest complaint concerns the washrooms: one reviewer describes the toilets and shower area as filthy and unusable, though several later visitors report new toilet and shower blocks, one calling the ladies shower clean, hot and roomy. A few note the limited menu choice, an uneven car park and a site looking a little tired, with one adding that a fresh coat of paint had gone up.

“Great truck stop that's secure 👍🏻 new toilet and shower blocks have been installed too. Staff are friendly and very helpful and wete able to accommodate me being coeliac when I stopped for the night and went in for my tea. 10 out of 10 for these guys.”

“I haven’t been here for at least a year due to the ladies shower situation. I got told they had put in a new shower block so came here last night to check it out I’m well impressed ladies shower is fantastic very clean very hot nice big cubicle with a toilet. Food is great staff are very friendly I will definitely be coming back”

“Great food. If you want a quiet break without drivers talking diesel, come to Standeford. You can always watch Homes under the hammer or Bargain Hunt on BBC1 at lunchtime. And if you have a breakfast, the fried bread is not a slice of bread dipped in a bucket of fat and fried. It's a lightly fried on the hot plate without oil! Young Jack has had the decorators in for a lick of paint and had a new shower block installed. Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!”

“A very good Truck Stop. Not a huge area for Trucks but how they're parked means more can fit. Very well choreographed. It's very safe with a lot of CCTV coverage and dog patrols. Food is good but the choice is a poor one unfortunately but what they do do is good. Very good amenities. There's a really nice pub a 10 min walk which does good food and drink.”

“I've called here several times over the years, maybe once a month on average. The place is nice with a farmhouse feel to it, the staff are lovely and the food is great. I've never had any complaints from that point of view, hence a full rack of stars for food service and atmosphere However, two stars lost overall because the toilets and shower area are nothing short of disgusting, they are filthy and stink. Even the stairs upto the toilets look terrible. I couldn't even use them last time and waited till I reached Stafford Services. As using the toilets is very often the last thing one does before leaving, they are the last impression one has. Please sort them out, otherwise I will have to eat elsewhere. I may only be one monthly diner there and no great loss to its business, but other reviews suggest that I'm not alone here. Thank you! 😊”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
