Customer Review Summary

Chicken biryani is the dish reviewers raise most, with one calling the leg meat flavourful and succulent and another ordering it with the Express Thaali at lunch. Close behind are the chaats, especially the samosa chaat, praised for its balance of yoghurt, green chutney and fresh pomegranate seeds, along with masala fries that stayed crispy even as takeaway. The bhindi nibble, soft garlic naan, mango lassi and dessert also draw praise, and several describe the staff as friendly and accommodating of their spice tolerance. Complaints are specific. One reviewer found the naan rubbery and the prawn curry sweet and fruity rather than a curry, another thought the dal makhani too liquid and lacking richness, and a takeaway fried chicken was bland. One vegetarian was served a dish containing meat, and another diner found the dish they wanted was no longer being made. One reviewer wished rumali roti were on the menu. One couple was welcomed inside with their dog.

“Nice ambience & delicious main meals. We were keen on a dish, but found out it isn’t running anymore. Chandana was an informative server with a beautiful smile. Chefs also quite co-operative. Rumali roti on the menu next would be 10/10 ! 🔥”

“Ordered takeaway and went for the masala fries, samosa chaat and fried chicken. Bonus: everything is halal!! The samosa chaat was definitely the highlight of the meal! It was so tasty and had a really nice balance of flavours. Loved that they included fresh pomegranate seeds, which added a lovely little burst of sweetness and freshness. The amount of yoghurt, green chutney and sauces was spot on too. Nothing was overpowering, and everything came together really nicely. Definitely something I’d order again. The masala fries were another pleasant surprise. Despite being delivered, they were still fresh and crispy, which isn’t always easy to get right with takeaway fries. They were also nicely seasoned and had plenty of flavour. Really enjoyed these! Unfortunately, the fried chicken was a bit disappointing. It had a rather unusual fishy smell and taste, which was quite off-putting. I’m not sure what caused it — possibly the oil being shared with fish, although that’s just a guess. The chicken itself was also quite bland and could have done with a lot more seasoning and flavour. Overall, a bit of a mixed experience, but the samosa chaat and masala fries were genuinely lovely and definitely made up for some of the disappointment with the chicken. I’d love to try the other chaats as well.”

“It’s very rare that I give a place full marks, but this restaurant genuinely deserves it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we walked in, we were given such a warm welcome and seated promptly. Our table was perfectly positioned near the windows, with plenty of space from other diners. It was also in a lovely, quiet spot, which was ideal for us as we had our 10-month-old baby with us. We were given plenty of time to look through the menu without feeling rushed, and we didn’t have to wait around for someone to come and take our order. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience really enjoyable. We started with the bhindi nibble, which was incredibly crispy and moreish. Even our little one enjoyed it! Our mains arrived around 10–15 minutes later. We ordered the chicken biryani, Mysore lamb, dhal makhani, and garlic & coriander naan. The naan was super soft and generously coated with garlic butter/ghee — absolutely delicious! The chicken biryani, however, was the real standout for me. It is honestly one of the best chicken biryanis I’ve had from a UK restaurant. They use leg meat, which made the chicken incredibly flavourful and succulent. It wasn’t overly spiced, and the chicken-to-rice ratio was perfect — there was definitely no shortage of chicken! The lamb was also beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. Overall, none of the dishes were greasy or overly spiced, and most importantly… it didn’t give me heartburn! 🤣 Everything from the food and service to the atmosphere was spot on. It’s a real hidden gem, and I would highly recommend giving it a try. We will definitely be coming back! ❤️”

“Wow! This was not expected - I ordered prawns curry and a naan. Both were kind of awful! The naan was rubbery and not from a tandoor! It was almost pretty gross for a naan. The prawns curry lacked curry flavor- was just sweet and fruity! Not a curry. Pass on this place! It’s not real British Indian food. So disappointed!”
