About The Palazzo at Burnley

The Palazzo at Burnley is an Italian restaurant on Grimshaw Street that puts a deconstructed twist on the classic affogato, serving it in an odd-shaped ice-cream bowl rather than the usual mug. The Italian menu runs alongside a bar and a cafe service, giving the room a flexible format through the day. The kitchen leans into Italian cooking, and the bar handles the drinks side of the offer. The team works across all three roles, from the bar to the floor. Booking is by reservation.

Customer Review Summary

Food and service lead the praise across most reviewers, with several singling out the staff by name and calling the atmosphere cool and friendly. Two diners push back on pricing, one flagging a £6.70 pint of Guinness as steep for Burnley, and another noting the deconstructed affogato arrived in an awkward bowl. One also describes a long wait for food. Overall, the food earns consistent five-star comments.

“Food is great. However places like this need to remember where they are. £6.70 for a pint of Guinness is too extreme for a town like Burnley. Drop the drink prices and they will get such a bigger foot fall”
  • Oliver Marsters
“Only downside is, it's not cheap. You get what you pay for I guess. Also perhaps I was confused with the deconstructed affocatto desert but I'm fairly sure it should come in a mug. I felt a bit odd trying to drink it from an odd shaped ice-cream bowl. I left you a picture so you can see what it should look like.”
