Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising the garlic pizza and a pizza before a show next door. The tagliatelle, a chicken and mushroom risotto and other pasta dishes also earn good words. Desserts come close behind, with the tiramisu, the puddings and the ice cream singled out, and one reviewer also recommends the chicken dishes and garlic bread. Service divides opinion. Some describe friendly, quick staff who asked repeatedly if anything was needed, while a long-time regular says it has slowly deteriorated and others found it slow or rarely checking on the table. Steak is the clearest food complaint, as a T-bone and a steak pasta were both called chewy, and one reviewer found the ribs tough and the waffles hard and dry. The sharpest service complaint came from a diner whose jumpsuit was splashed with hot oil three times while starters were cleared, and who was offered only a wet cloth.

“I came here last night with friends for a birthday meal, the food was lovely but the staff thought it was a joke when I asked were should I send the dry cleaning bill too!! Let me tell you what I mean, so I was wearing a sage green jumpsuit and the girl that collected our starters after we finished spilt the oil on me from my curtly, not once not twice but 3 times, yea she said she was sorry but that was it, no one came to check I was ok as the oil was hot, I was just offered a wet cloth!! Wouldn’t mind but this was a new jumpsuit and first time wearing it, save to say this spoilt my evening”

“This was based on one of our visits. Don’t let my personal rating put you off visiting. The rib and wing starter is 1 of each and then a lot and I mean a lot of salad which to many is not a bad thing but it was too much. The wings were cooked well I prefer them to the ribs which presented a little tough in places and slightly dry. The garlic bread with cheese was tasty enough. Could have used a little more garlic. My partner has the steak pasta as you can see in the photo, the flavours were not the best in his opinion and the steak was chewy. Now the chicken on the next photo that was incredible it was tasty juicy and crispy on the outside the sauce was great and each was a nice welcoming flavour explosion upon eating. Vegetables are veg cooked well for some the green beans were a tad over cooked but tasty all the same. The waffles I did not enjoy I found them to be hard and dry but the accompanying ice cream was very much welcomed and tasty creamy ice cream. The atmosphere was good with the company we were in, service was not the best we were not asked if we were ok, the only times we saw someone was to ask if we wanted another drink or to bring food. Now this was just this occasion we have been many times and enjoy trying different things. Service isn’t always the best and in our opinion food can be hit or miss. I would recommend the ice cream the pizzas, the garlic breads and the chicken dishes to everyone. I’d still say try it and see what you think”

“I’ve been here a few times for a pizza before a show at the Municipal Hall next door, but selected chicken and mushroom risotto last night and it was superb. My wife and mother-in-law both had pasta dishes and they really enjoyed their meals too. The service was good and the food arrived pretty quickly considering they were really busy.”
