Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the authentic Nepali taste, with the pork sekuwa named repeatedly alongside sukuti, and several say the food felt like being back in Nepal. Close behind are the momos, including a chicken momo soup and jhol momos in broth, plus the chowmin, chatpate, a chicken curry one diner calls the most flavoursome they have had, and the Thakali sets. One reviewer notes the menu can be made vegan, and the oatmilk popcorn milkshakes get a mention. Diners also describe the decoration, with Nepali arts and crafts, and the lovely local music. Staff are called friendly and attentive, and the owner and chef are described as humble and welcoming. The one critical review, from a returning customer, found the sefali, momo, chow mein and thukpa bland, with a mild chutney lacking the usual salt and chilli, though the chatpate was still very good. Even there, the staff were called lovely and welcoming. Several diners say they would come back, and one is glad Bristol has a Nepali restaurant again after a long gap.

“We visited Nepali chulo recently and wanted to share some feedback. We’ve really enjoyed the food here in the past, which is why we were looking forward to coming back. This time, while the chatpate was still very good, we felt that some of the other dishes like the sefali, momo, chow mein, and thukpa were not quite up to the standard we remembered. They were all bland. The chutney in particular was really mild, and we couldn’t really taste the usual balance of salt and chilli. We hope this feedback is taken in a positive spirit, as we truly enjoy your restaurant and would love to see the food return to its previous quality. On a very positive note, the staff were absolutely lovely very friendly, welcoming. We look forward to visiting again soon!”

“Amazing food. I had a chicken curry which was the most flavoursome curry I’ve ever had. Also had the chicken momo soup and a lamb curry. Highly recommend, tasty food and reasonable prices.”
