About Pizza Workshop

On Whiteladies Rd in Bristol, Pizza Workshop is a pizza restaurant that bakes sourdough pizza and serves hot boccas. It also runs pizza making classes for anyone who wants to learn to make pizza themselves. The menu numbers its pizzas, with Pizza No. 08 topped with nduja, and Pizza 55 appears as a daily special. Gluten free bases are available for coeliac guests, and a lunch offer runs alongside the regular menu. The team serves large groups together, so a table of friends or family can eat at the same time. For something other than pizza, the kitchen makes a Caesar salad with chicken.

Customer Review Summary

Pizza No. 08 draws the most mentions, with one reviewer praising its thin, crisp base with some chew and another enjoying it with nduja. Close behind are the no7, a special, Pizza 55, eaten to the last bite, and a caesar salad piled with chicken. Staff are described as friendly, and the room as warm, clean and cozy, with one party moved inside when it was windy. One reviewer found the pizza making class informative. The complaints centre on delivery and portions. One reviewer reports a cold, unsliced pizza with a slimy, tasteless gluten free base. Another says extra toppings were forgotten on a third Deliveroo order and the pizza arrived displaced in the box, though that reviewer had long rated the place as especially good for coeliacs. A goats cheese pizza reportedly arrived with four pieces, two of them rind, and the kitchen declined to add more, with the bill adjustment limited to the service charge. A table of seven found the bill slow to arrive. Two diners say they left not a crumb.

“Used to love this place, it’s especially good for gluten free/ coeliacs so highly recommended in that regard. However a warning if ordering through deliveroo, this is the third time they’ve forgotten the extra toppings on my pizza, so sadly I will not be going here any more. It also arrives all displaced in the box. Do not order take out with extra toppings, because they will be consistently forgotten and you’ll be disappointed. Don’t bother. I used to be a loyal customer here but sadly no more”

“I seriously loved this place! I love pizza so much and I was very impressed by every aspect of Pizza Workshop. I got Pizza 55, which was one of the specials that day, and it was absolutely delicious—I did in fact eat every last bite. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, particularly when we asked if we could be moved inside because it was so windy outside. The atmosphere was warm and clean. I will certainly be coming back!”

“Just had our first delivery from this place, and it will be the last. Pizza arrived cold, and it wasn’t even sliced, which is just lazy. This might have been forgiven if this pizza was good. Now I know it’s not the easiest thing to get a gluten free base right - it took me 3 attempts when I did it - but it is possible, as proved by Laura’s pizza, and Pizzarova. This was slimey and tasteless. If you can’t do it, just don’t sell them, simple.”

“As always, lovely pizzas and I had the ceasar salad that must have had the most chicken ever on it! It was just fabulous. There was 7 of us and we all were served together. However, it took time trying to get the bill at the end.”
