  “I live abroad and recently heard about the almond croissants at Mokoko. I was served by a young lady who had brown hair and a pierced eyebrow. She did incredible coffee art and really was a superstar. Lovely customer service, helpful local knowledge about the area and the food was phenomenal. I wish this young woman well! I would definitely return.”

  “We had no idea what this place was and initially only went in because the restaurant we were going to.wasnt open yet. Queued out the door, we fortunately found a shady empty table. We almost cancelled going to the restaurant! The food and bakery items looked amazing! We'll certainly be back to try them! Coffee was delicious, really nicely balanced flavoursome drinks. Lots of places don't do truly good coffee, this bakery was amazing! Worth the easy 10min wait! Super cute mugs/cups too!”

  “I honestly don't know how many times we've been here now! Every time my husband and I visit, we order the almond croissant and the hazelnut croissant, and today they were even more delicious than usual. The pastries are consistently amazing. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is so nice During the hot days it’s really nice to sit inside as they have an air conditioner! Our only complaint is the coffee. As a coffee lover, I've never had a really good coffee here. I order a latte every time, but it always comes with more foam than a cappuccino and is served much too hot, which makes it difficult to enjoy. Please try to improve this. If the coffee becomes as good as the pastries, we'll absolutely fall in love with this place and keep coming back!”

  “The food is amazing and not the normal pre packed unappealing sandwiches and pre frozen cakes, everything is baked and made freshly on site,the coffee is always good even the decafe. Staff are lovely and friendly, great view of the marina especially when the bi fold doors are open in the nice weather”

  “My recent visit to Mokoko was disappointing and fell short of the accessibility and service standards I expect in 2026. I heard many good things about it and was looking forward to my vist, but while the coffee was enjoyable, the overall experience was marked by an environment that felt neither welcoming nor inclusive. The noise level inside was overwhelming, the queue chaotic, and the service I received at the counter was dismissive, hostile and quite honestly, passive agressive; when I politely asked the waitress to repeat herself twice due to my tinnitus, she deliberately lowered her voice further rather than accommodating my need. I thought I was wrong by noticing, but my friends, noted this behavior as well, confirming that the lack of courtesy was obvious. On top, the food options/ experience lacks basic accessibility considerations: the sandwiches are served in an unmanageable size without an offer to cut them; both (the noise and food accessibility) create a significant barrier for anyone with audible and motor impairments, ex. due to stroke, brain injuries, etc. Given the cost of the menu items and in this day and age, this failure to provide an accessible and respectful environment is unacceptable, and I won't be returning. I was left feeling quite disturbed.”

  “Oh dear, someone skipped customer service day at hospitality school! I don’t mind there being a mix up on the order and even waiting a very long time. However, just a slight acknowledgment or even a little ‘sorry’ wouldn’t go amiss! Instead I got a surly ‘well we will see what we can do’. Fine I’ll go next door in future.”

  “I guess Mokoko is the place to go for the trendy young professionals who live marina-side - it certainly feel that way, And that's fine - we were there for a late breakfast top-up and coffee, so it was fairly quiet. Not cheap, but better …”

  “The coffee is great and the sourdough bread is amazing. This is my new spot to get bread for the week. Gives me an excuse to pick up a pastry while I'm at it. Location is great for a little walk with my coffee as well.”
