Customer Review Summary

Diners most frequently single out Mokoko Bakery’s pastries, with the Pain Au Raisin and cardamom knot repeatedly praised for their texture and balance of sweetness and spice. Close behind are the coffee and iced latte, noted for their quality and unique Mokoko blend, though a few mention the oat cappuccino’s coffee flavor can be overpowered by the milk. The serrano ham BLT on a toasted croissant and the cardamom & sugar pastry also earn specific acclaim. Several highlight the marina-side location and views, the dog-friendly atmosphere, and the efficient, friendly service. One reviewer notes the WiFi cuts out after an hour, a deliberate nudge to free up seating. The bakery’s lively, artistic ambiance and pottery cups are also mentioned as standout details.

Visited at lunchtime on one of the very hot days at end of May 26 after walking the coast path from Clevedon...had a 'posh' BLT (serrano ham, rocket, tomato, toasted croissant...😋) alongside an iced latte, not the cheapest but better value than C0st@ and the service, quality, taste and location were great... …

I guess Mokoko is the place to go for the trendy young professionals who live marina-side - it certainly feel that way, And that's fine - we were there for a late breakfast top-up and coffee, so it was fairly quiet. Not cheap, but better …

The location is beautiful, and the sandwiches are unique. It's right by the sea with an amazing view. Of course, the weather isn't usually clear. I came to this area in winter and didn't see much sun. But if you come in summer, the views are superb. It's a calm and quiet town. Mokokon is mostly frequented by young people.

Another impromptu visit to Mokoko Portishead. As always, the coffee was hot and had the unique Mokoko blend. The Pain Au Raisin; large, crusty and sticky on the outside, yet soft and chewy in the middle. Exactly how I remember it, stunning! Most recently I’ve stuck to the cardamom & sugar pastry, which by all accounts is just as delicious and rather flavourful, however, the Pain Au Raisin won it today 😉 Whilst the food is without a doubt stunning, the service is also great, with a smile and prompt! Today, I placed my order, dumped my bag and went to the toilet. On my return, my coffee was ready at my seat. Excellent 👌 it allowed me to get online and do a bit of research for work. You’re generally given an hour online and then the WiFi cuts out. The first time I had this I thought it was a bit annoying but to be fair I think as a business you need the flow of custom. It’s easy to log back in, but it’s a bit of a reminder to maybe buy another drink or head off and vacate the seat for another paying customer. I’ve seen the new spot has just opened near Cribbs and will no doubt be paying a visit soon. 🤩

Delicious cardamon knot and flat white. Dog friendly and very relaxing warm space on a very cold day. Staff efficient and busy. Reasonable price for quality.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
