“Excellent restaurant, very pleased with the staff; they were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the presentation was very pleasing. The portions were large, so we didn't eat half of it, but we asked for takeaway, and the staff packed it in containers. It's easy to park and find.”

“By far the best Chinese food in Bridgend (and further afield). There's always a super-warm welcome from all the staff and nice conversation. The last time we visited for a sit-down meal the weather wasn't great and regular patrons perhaps opted to stay-in for a takeaway, so we ended up having the whole restaurant to ourselves and being the only dine-in customers. Not a problem for us as we prefer a quiet atmosphere. We opted for a 'set meal for 3' and it was a great choice (as we knew it always would be).”

“Utterly appalled. I have allowed for some grace in my review as it was New Years Eve. However, this was hands down the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever eaten spanning several areas of South Wales over 25 odd years. Also, before leaving this review, I called the restaurant to discuss it with them and they were unwilling to do anything at all other than apologise, justifying a refusal to refund by saying we were the only ones that complained. The chips were greasy, soggy and not fresh. The Cantonese steak (£19) was tasteless and chewy. The lemon chicken was like lemon fairy liquid and tasted like chemicals. The prawns in the chow mein were undercooked. 4 dishes and 2 sides cost us £66. For the prices being charged here, I'd expect edible & enjoyable food. Looking at the other positive reviews we seem to have been incredibly unlucky - but for the owner to dismiss our experience is even worse. Will never be going back.”

“We have used the Golden Well for several years now and always have a great time. Alan and his team are fabulous hosts, super attentive and want to ensure you have a great time. We generally visit as a group of 8 or 10 of us and have set menu to share, there is always plenty to go round and the price is very reasonable. I can highly recommend this restaurant / take away.”
