Customer Review Summary
The burger draws the most praise, with several diners calling it one of the best they have had, and one adds a sharing board, chicken wings and tenderstem broccoli. Breakfast comes close behind, with scrambled egg on granary toast, American style pancakes, a hearty full English and duck pancakes, all described as good portions and good value. The roast with a great selection of vegetables, sticky toffee pudding, and a brownie and lemon posset rich enough to share also get mentions, and the vegetarian courses are called especially good. Reviewers describe friendly, helpful staff and a lovely outside area next to the river, with cover in parts for wet weather. The one complaint comes from a breakfast where butter for the toast and cutlery never arrived and sugar for the coffees had to be requested. One family noted there was no kids menu, though flat breads, hummus, chips and ice cream were greedily eaten. Diners also recall the chef's pork scratchings and a birthday shot brought to the table.

“Jack was an absolute star and credit to the organisation. Professional, friendly and helpful and from someone who was in the trade for 15 years, very nice to see people taking it seriously while still being outgoing and making you feel at home. The burger was one of the best I’ve had outside my own kitchen. 10/10 and will definitely be back when passing through again.”

“Stopped by on our way back from the beach and it was all round excellent! The burger was the best I've had in a long time and we also had a sharing board. The chicken wings were top notch and the tenderstem broccoli delicious. The brownie and lemon posset were really tasty and rich so can easily be shared. Staff were really helpful and attentive. The music playlist was amazing, love a bit of MGMT! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!”

“Didn't book, just turned up. Really nice food. Good service. Small menu of good quality food.”
- Stacey Vallins
“Really good breakfast, however we wasn't given butter for the toast. Cutlery was missing/not given, had to ask for sugar for the coffee's. So service was a little lacking, but not bad. Lovely spot in Braunton, next to the river too. Would definitely come again.”

“I really like it here, the food is lovely and really well cooked. The outside area next to the river is lovely on a warm day and has a cover in parts outside if it is wet. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for lunch.”
