Customer Review Summary
The naanwich is the dish reviewers raise most, a sekh roll or chicken kebab wrapped in cheesy garlic butter naan and served with chips and a drink, described as generous, filling and very tasty. Close behind is the service, with many reviewers singling out one waiter as kind, attentive and quick to check on the table and refill water. Other dishes praised include chicken masala, soft garlic naan, karahi ghoosht, lamb karahi on the bone, lamb chops, aloo paratha and mango lassi, along with mocktails and falooda. The menu is uneven, though. One reviewer found the fish pakoras rubbery, the fish karahi salty and bland, the meat samosas oily, and the kulfi in the kulfi falooda hard and icy, while the salty lassi tasted like yogurt with salt. Another felt the gol gappay had chickpeas but no potato and the chicken popcorn was closer to pakore, and called parking on the busy street a nightmare. One group ordered the naanwich all round and left with leftovers to take home.

“I came here after my mum recommend. Not all viral food spots are actually good, sometimes they're just overhyped. This really hit the spot. But the main thing my mum said after she came last time was the service was amazing! And I definitely agree, uncle Agha was soo lovely and very attentive. Such a polite, friendly gentleman who really made the visit memorable. We started with poppadom with mango chutney, onion chutney and achaar. The poppadoms were nice and warm and it made a lovely appetiser. We all ended up getting the same thing since my mum enjoyed it so much last time 😅. We got the naanwich, which is a sekh roll served in a cheesy garlic butter naan, and you get 2 rolls each, chips and a drink. This was about £9.95 each, which is a great price for a full meal, and it is very filling. We even had leftovers to bring home. They had a nice variety on the menu and they also had desserts and drinks that were very tempting but we were too full to even try. Next time, might have to skip on the poppadoms and get dessert at the end as well. We went at around 4pm it was a good time it wasn't too busy, will definitely be back inshaAllah.”

“I tried this place again, second time's the charm, right? I got some chicken popcorn, but it was more like pakore, and the gol gappay wasn't even the real Punjabi deal. No potato, just chickpeas in some minty green water. The first time I went, I had a NAANWICH (kebab in naan) as a late-night snack, and that was just okay too. Service was pretty quick, didn't have to wait long for the food. There's plenty of seating and a restroom, but finding parking on that super busy street is a nightmare.”

“Travelled all the way from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 to go for a dinner at Chowdreys. The karahi lamb on the bone was excellent with garlic and tandoori roti. We tried falooda which was amazing. Above all, the service from uncle Agha was excellent. He made sure our food arrived on time and attended to every need to make sure our experience would be better.”
