About Idle Balti
Idle Balti is an Indian takeaway in Bradford, found at 10 Albion Rd, and it is open daily, evenings only. The menu offers a special mixed starter for the opening course, with chicken and mushroom korma among the main dishes. The donner is made with either beef or chicken and comes with chapattis. Orders are for Indian food throughout, so the starter, the korma and the donner all come from the same kitchen on Albion Rd.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken curries draw the most praise, with reviewers singling out a chicken tikka masala with a good chicken to sauce ratio and fresh chicken, and a chicken and mushroom korma described as beautiful. Close behind are the starters: huge onion bhajis, seekh kebabs that are neither too spicy nor too mild, and a special mixed starter one longtime customer calls good value. A few mention great staff and customer service, and one describes it as a place for food after a night out in Idle. Price is the main recurring caveat. One reviewer says it costs a little more than other local takeaways but prefers quality over quantity, while another calls it too expensive for a takeaway and says a sit down meal could cost the same. Two reviews are sharply negative. One describes doner switching from beef to chicken midweek, with tasteless chicken and chapattis that seemed bought in. Another reports staff licking their fingers to open bags and count money before returning to food preparation. One regular still orders the same chicken masala and finds it always the same.

“The food is decent. Way too expensive for a local take away though. Could go for a sit down meal for the prices they charge.”

“Have tried various local takeaways over the last year and have now concluded that Idle Balti is the best in BD10. Absolutely delicious chicken tikka masala perfect amount of chicken to sauce ratio, chicken was very fresh, onion bhajis were huge and flavour was spot on. Seekh kebabs were very nice too, not too spicy and not too mild, just perfect. They are a little more expensive than other local takeaways but as the saying goes - quality over quantity. I'd rather pay that little bit more to enjoy every bite.”
