Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the salt and pepper chicken, describing it as dry and flavourless, with the seasoning sitting in a pile at the edge or bottom of the box rather than on the chicken. Close behind are the honey chilli beef and chicken, called plain and lacking any sauce, and the egg fried rice, repeatedly described as clumped together and hard. The chow mein comes up as watery or mushy, and two reviewers found the prawn crackers stale. Late delivery and lukewarm food recur, including app orders that arrived well past the quoted time. One reviewer found the curry sauce decent and another called the food very tasty and delicious, but they are outnumbered by those who binned their meals or requested refunds. Delivery drivers are described as polite. Two complaints describe a dismissive response from the takeaway, with one caller told the food was meant to be like that and another sent to the delivery app to request a refund.

“Used to be amazing years ago. When it was an authentic Chinese restaurant. It's no longer Chinese owned. One thing we all know is Chinese food should be cooked by Chinese people. You wouldn't ask the painter to rewire your house. One thing the Chinese do amazingly is cook pork, so much so one of the few chinese words we all know is char sui. Not a single mention of pork or char sui on the menu. Make of it what you will. I won't be eating from here again”

“If I could give zero stars I would have. Avoid at all costs. The food took 1 hour 30 minutes to be delivered, it was cold and had no taste (for the bits we dared to try). I have requested a refund as we luckily ordered through a third party website, when I called the takeaway the man was not bothered and said if I want a refund to request it on the app I ordered through. He didn’t sound surprised at the complaint and didn’t even apologise. Will never order again”

“Worst chinese meal ive ever paid for...where do i begin. Prawn crackers stale. Chips ok but nothing special Beef and mushroom. Again standard..not much taste. Salt and pepper chicken with boiled. Rice..funny taste but no seasoning and certainly didnt taste like salt and pepper Salt and pepper crispy chicken again no taste. Seasoning was in the bottom of box as if someone had just thrown it in. Honey chilli chicken and beef...plain. no seasoning and no sauce but nothing honey and chilli about it apart from the name.. Egg fried rice..hardly any egg whats so ever and rice clumped together as if it had been cooked far to early and left to stand.. Best thing about this meal was my dogs eating it.. Ill never go back and suggest no one does...dont know how this is open and called a chinese takeaway. Ps if you go to pick it up from the actual place its a dive.”

“Extremely disappointed with our Christmas Eve order. We waited two and a half hours for delivery, which we fully expected given the time of year and appreciate how hard staff must have been working. After an hour and a half we called to check on our order and were told there were still 50 orders ahead of us — again, understandable on Christmas Eve. However, when the food finally arrived, the quality was extremely poor. The beef was chewy and rubbery, the curry was watery, the chicken was hard, and the food was barely warm. After such a long wait, this was incredibly disappointing. If I wanted cold, poorly prepared food, I could have made it myself. We understand how busy and stressful the holidays are, but if a business cannot maintain a basic standard of quality, it should not be accepting orders. We’ve ordered from here several times in the past, but unfortunately this experience has completely put us off. Absolutely gutted and would not recommend.”

“Ordered in Blyth Eats app. Took half an hour longer to arrive than advised on the app. Food arrived luke warm. Average at best. S&S Hong Kong style was filled with undercooked onions. Chips were greasy, spring rolls the same. Chow mein was mushy. Curry sauce was decent enough. Won’t use again to be honest.”
