About Khyber Cafe Blackburn
Khyber Cafe Blackburn is an Indian takeaway in Blackburn at 35 Whalley Range, and it has been trading since 1966. The menu centres on large boxes with plenty of food in each. The Curry Box comes with rice, sauces and chips. The Donner Box pairs shish kebabs, chicken tikka or several donner varieties with fries, cheese, salad and sauce. Splitting a donner between brown and red costs extra. Poppadoms and starters are served with the boxes, and a pizza box is also on the menu. The kitchen is open daily, evenings only. Anyone collecting an order pays in cash.

Customer Review Summary
The curry box draws the most praise, with reviewers describing loads of food, excellent flavours and portions that fed two people easily or stretched into the next day. Close behind is the donner box, with three donner varieties and fries, though one reviewer wanted more fries, and another found the red donner very salty and disliked paying extra to split the donner between brown and red. The naan is called huge, and one delivery arrived fresh and hot after about an hour. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the poppadom stale, the masala thick and splodgy, and the curry short on chicken. Another reported rubbery onion bhaji, pakoras too salty and tasting reheated, oily curry, chapatis like moist cardboard, and missing rice that staff disputed. A parent reports a bone in the chicken tikka on a pizza box their 12 year old was eating. One reviewer's kebab arrived with salad they had not asked for, and the staff sorted it out straight away with no fuss.

“I’ve only started coming here in the past week, but I’m already really impressed. The food has been consistently spot on, and the customer service is excellent. I did have a small issue with my kebab today as it came with salad when I hadn’t asked for it, but the staff sorted it out straight away with no fuss and were really friendly about it. That kind of service makes a big difference. Great food, great people – I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“Ordered twice, the curry box. One time delivery which took abour an hour but came so fresh, hot and excellent flavours. The next time we collected as we didnt want a long wait. Whilst in there I could see why the delivery times were 1 hour, their phone didnt stop ringing. I do need to try something new next time though and not just the curry box.”
