Customer Review Summary

Reviewers are split, and the most repeated complaint is the chips, described as rock hard, undercooked or soggy. One diner took a portion back and was told the potato supplier had changed, but the replacement chips were still hard. Others report food that arrived uncooked or only warm, and a few say things ran out and had to be cooked fresh, with a wait. Delivery draws its own complaints: one reviewer received kebabs without the requested sauce, had a later order cancelled because staff were going home early, and then received pie and chips with no chips. Another says a till error overcharged a scallops order, and that the fish roe was stringy and gristly. One reviewer alleges racist treatment of new owners by some workers. On the positive side, several praise a good-sized fish that tasted beautiful, chips as expected from a chippy, a mix meat and chips described as tasty and fresh, and friendly staff. One reviewer was offered a bag of chips the next day to make up for the missing order.

“This chippy has got right down hill. Chips are rock hard and not cooked properly portion looked more like a medium than a large we Had to take them back to complain staff said they have changed potato supplier and have told the boss. That they don’t seem to be cooking right at the normal time and temperature. By the time we got the new chips back home all other food was in edible and the new chips were still all hard so had to be thrown away as didn’t want to go back a third time. so a waste of money. Will be going else where from now on”

“Been here nearly every day for the past week. It's hit and miss but what I have I found is some of the food is either uncooked or not hot. I've had warm meals here at best. Not a very good chip shop. Could get better quality at classics for cheaper. Also they forgot my spring rolls in my special.”

“Fish was a great size and tasted beautiful and the chips were how you would expect chippy chips to taste like. All the staff were friendly.”

“Undercooked soggy chips. Fish tastes of nothing but rancid oil. Pretty sure some of the workers are racist, can tell by their tone and how they treated the new Chinese owners when they first started. They were condescending and rude towards them, tried to humiliate them in front of a packed shop of customers! Disgusting!”
