Customer Review Summary
Beef noodles (niuroumian) are the dish reviewers return to, with cumin beef praised alongside them. Close behind are chicken curry and kung pao chicken, both served with egg fried rice, plus yung chow fried rice, beef ho fun and Singapore style fried rice. Reviewers repeatedly describe the portions as generous and the food as fresh, affordable and student friendly. Several flag cash only as a drawback, and a few note the staff speak very limited English, though others call them kind and eager to help. The sharpest complaint comes from one reviewer who says non-Chinese customers are treated differently, describes the person taking the order as seeming bothered and rude in tone, and reports receiving a beef dish instead of the kung pao chicken they ordered. That reviewer also had to ask for the free soup that other tables received, and found the A1 option's sauce to be red oil that sinks to the bottom. Another diner describes a customised order of rice cooked from scratch while they waited.

“The food was quite tasty. We ordered fried rice along with chow mein ,The portions of the meals are very generous compared to other places, we went twice already and we really liked it. Update: Mr yummy has become one of our favorite spots for me and my family! My personal recommendations will be the yung chow fried rice and the beef ho fun:)”

“The best value lunch in Selly Oak! The food is consistently delicious, especially the beef noodles(Niuroumian) and cumin beef (Ziran Niurou). Beyond the great food, the staff is incredibly kind: about a year ago, when I lived nearby, the staff helped me collect a parcel even though I wasn't even a customer at that moment. It's an authentic Chinese restaurant with economic prices, so don't expect fine dining service, but the flavors are top-tier. Highly recommended!”
