Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the crispy chips, which one reviewer calls the best they have tasted, and the munch box, described as very tasty and good value. Beef and broccoli, dry ribs with lemon, duck curry, chow mien and the special curry also draw praise, and one vegetarian diner rates the green vegetable curry, vegetables in Kung Po sauce and vegetable yuk sung as excellent. Portions are repeatedly called generous, and several mention food arriving hot and quick, whether collected or delivered. A diner with coeliac disease describes the front desk showing a separate gluten free menu with many options. Another reviewer who disliked the food years ago says it has since improved. Complaints are minor: onion rings and mini spring rolls were a bit greasy, the curry chips in a tray did not impress, and the banana fritters have lately been less crispy than on the first order. One reviewer found the Szechuan sauce too hot. The sauces are praised as cheap, with plum sauce singled out as tasty.

“This Chinese takeaway is consistently good, I’ve been ordering since I moved into the area 8 years ago and I have never had a bad one! Every time it’s fresh, delicious and quick service. Best Chinese takeaway i’ve had over the years. About time I did a review!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“I used to hate the food here, but my partner loved and missed them, so after about 8 years away, we returned in the hopes they'd improved. I was pleased to discover they had, and the food is delicious.”

“Chips crispy- Excellent. For anyone who likes Crispy Chips in my opinion these are the best ones I've ever tasted (along with 'Happy House'). Banana Fritters crispy- Excellent. Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables- Great Value at just £2.30. Delivery charge only £1. Very quick. My first experience of 'Happy Garden' is excellent and I will be trying again. Update :- Vegetables in Kung Po Sauce - Excellent. Vegetables in Sweet & Sour Sauce - Excellent Cuŕy Chips in a Tray - Not to keen. Vegetables in Szechuan Sauce - Nice but a bit too hot for me. Vegetable Yuk Sung - Excellent. Onion Rings - Nice but a bit greasy. Green Vegetable Curry - Excellent (so, so tasty, ladled the sauce up afterwards, really delicious). Vegetable Mini Spring Rolls (8) - Nice 'n' crispy, bit greasy. Plum Sauce - tasty and at just £1.50 (as are all their sauces) cheapest anywhere (most other places £2 or above). I've been a bit disappointed lately with the Banana Fritters which haven't been as crispy as the first time I had them.”
