“Location is beautiful & very tranquil (tiny bit of road noise but nothing massive), picnic tables outside with umbrellas next to the pond are fab. Really nice food from a concise menu, big portions too - you could easily just do 2 starters for a main and not feel hungry afterwards. I was driving so didn't get to try the beers but the offerings looked varied. Staff were lovely & polite too!”

“Unfortunately disappointed with our first visit here. I ordered fish and chips which looked great but when it arrived the fish had been battered with skin on. For me personally, eating the skin of a fish is quite niche and an acquired taste. Totally aware a lot of places do it but everywhere I’ve been that does it includes it on the menu information. I wouldn’t have ordered it had it said it. When I asked the waitress why it wasn’t stated she said “that’s how we’ve always done it” and that “no one else has ever brought it up”. Trying not to be difficult I said I’ll give it a go but after two mouthfuls I gave up and just left it. I was hopeful of being offered discount but was given a full bill. I asked if the waitress could request some discount from the manager and she returned with 25% of that specific meal, so I paid almost £15 for chips and a tablespoon sized portion of mushy peas. I guess I must be an awkward customer.”

“Used to be 5/5 and had many great family meals here. Now it’s 0/5. Not family or accessibility friendly. The car park is like walking across Brighton beach. No good for a pushchair. …”

“Really lovely pub. We stumbled across this looking for a late lunch and were not disappointed. There were lots of tables outdoors with decent umbrellas for shade on a very hot afternoon. So many beautiful flowers and the pond with ducks was …”

“We visited mid-week for lunch. I was a visitor to the area, but the pub was well signposted. Very welcoming, and the ambience is lovely - lots of well-cared-for (unlike mine) flowers and there were plenty of interesting features. Service was excellent. We chose pub classics - haddock and chips and a ploughman's - which were delicious. My ploughman's was one of the best I've had for a while. There is a large car park, so no worries about parking. I really enjoyed my visit - thank you!”

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the outdoor setting, with umbrella-shaded picnic tables beside the pond and ducks among beautiful flowers. Food gets credit too: haddock and chips and a ploughman's are called delicious, and portions are big. Complaints are sharper. One diner found the fish battered with skin on, unstated on the menu, and received only a partial discount; another describes a car park unsuitable for pushchairs.
