Quick info
About The Shakespeare Pub and Kitchen
At The Shakespeare Pub on the road of the same name in Bicester, dogs step inside alongside their owners at this British pub. The kitchen turns out Sunday roasts made to order and served hot, alongside a broader menu that runs from sandwiches to steaks, with Doom Bar poured on tap at the bar. The space also works as a banquet hall, opening up for larger gatherings when the dining room is needed. Drinks are poured by staff at the bar, and portions are sized for a full meal without a heavy price behind them.

Customer Review Summary
Two reviewers single out the Sunday roast as the standout, with piping-hot plates made to order and generous portions. Close behind, the wider menu draws praise for friendly staff and good value. One diner, however, describes a cloudy pint served without a replacement or refund, and another flags smaller portions for the price, making the trade-off between quality and quantity a recurring point.

“If you don't want to be poisoned, avoid this place. I used to go to this pub to have a drink until today when I ordered a pint of Doom Bar. The girl behind the bar poured it, and the locals were telling her, "That beer is ridiculously cloudy!" She, with the pint already full, told me to try it and tell her if it didn't taste right. Being unfamiliar with the subject, I didn't notice the difference, so I accepted it (and paid for it). Then the locals kept talking about it and how dangerous it was to drink beer in that condition. I got scared and left. They never offered me a replacement or a refund. I'm not an expert, and I don't have to know everything, but they should know what they're selling to people, because they almost poisoned me. Never again! Be careful with this place.”
