About The Olive Tree At The Plough, Bicester
The Olive Tree At The Plough occupies a spot on North Street in Bicester, set up as a pub and gastropub that also works as an inn. Beyond the bar, where beer and cider are poured directly to standing customers, the kitchen turns out burgers alongside a wider menu. Diners can settle into the inside area or move out to the outside seating when the weather allows, and the bar gets busy enough that waiting customers often fill the floor. The building also runs as a hotel, with rooms available for overnight stays, making it a base for visitors heading to the British GP. Orders are taken as walk-ins, and parking sits on site, with drivers using a digital parking machine during their visit.

“Una serata indimenticabile con gli amici per festeggiare il compleanno di mia moglie. Cena ottima, preparata con grande cura, personale molto disponibile e attento a tutto. Ci hanno seguito in tutte le nostre richieste rendendo bellissima la nostra serata! Grazie a Georgia, Jamie e tutti gli altri, siete stati perfetti. Consiglio questo pub per mangiare e bere benissimo e come hotel per fermarsi!”

“Bar was busy when we arrived. There was space for us to stand ay the bar. Bar staff prioritised locals serving them drinks before acknowledging our presence let alone checking us in. Even serving drinks half way through the checking in process. Room was adequate, ensuite in serious need of a makeover. No breakfast available.”

“Had a lovely meal, but left with a nasty taste in my mouth when I received 2 texts demanding I pay a parking fine, which I thought was a scam, then a few days later a letter from UKPC demanding £100 fine for parking in the pub car park! I had filled in a digital parking machine thing that the lady in the pub told me to do. When I called the pub they told me I had to send them proof that I had been there with a copy of the parking ticket. Such a shame, it was nice to find somewhere close to us for food, but won’t be going back or recommending.”

“We had burgers that were really nice and I would order one again. The beer and cider we drank were in great condition. Service was really slow which let the overall experience down. It took about 30 minutes to get our drinks even though there were only about 20 covers in there. The staff were lovely though and couldn't be more helpful when you did get their attention. I would eat there again. But I would get drinks from the bar and carry them back to the table.”

“First time staying here. Stayed for the 2026 British GP. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. As a pub great food. Lively outside, but if you want a little quieter you can eat inside. Already looking to book for next year.”
