About 316 Mein - Noodle & Coffee
316 Mein - Noodle & Coffee is a Chinese noodle restaurant in Belfast serving Hong Kong and Sichuan style noodles alongside coffee and tea. Diners choose their own noodle, such as ramen or ho fun, and pair it with a broth of spicy Sichuan, tom yum or seaweed. Beef brisket noodles and char siu in spicy Sichuan broth are among the bowls, and the restaurant's own hot chilli sauce goes with them. The menu also includes vegan, gluten free and vegetarian choices. On the drinks side, Irish roasted coffee sits next to Hong Kong-style milk tea, and the business is a member of the Speciality Coffee Association. Payment is cash only.

Customer Review Summary
Beef brisket noodles are the most frequent draw, with reviewers calling the beef tender and the broth rich and authentic. Close behind are the spicy Sichuan soup noodles with crispy fish skin and beef tendon, the pig's trotter noodles, and the roast duck rice, all described as generous in portion. Char siu and pork dumplings in spicy broth come up repeatedly, and one reviewer singles out the Yang Chow fried rice with large prawns as the most authentic they have had in the UK. Drinks get mentions too, including the lemon peach tea and the coffee tea yin yeung, which one reviewer found not too sweet, though another found the Hong Kong style milk tea only okay. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming in nearly every review, and prices are called reasonable for the amount of food. The only criticism is small: one reviewer wanted a larger standalone portion of the curry beef brisket. Reviewers also mention veggie chow mein arriving without any fuss for vegetarian friends.

“Lovely staff and even lovelier food!! We got the cha siu in spicy schiuan and the pork dumplings and it was so tasty!! Will definitely be back. Oh and the lemon peach tea was amazing!”

“Delicious and super authentic Hong Kong food! The roast duck rice came in huge portions and was tasty. The pig's trotter noodles were amazing—getting four large pieces makes it such a great value! The curry beef brisket was delicious with rich, genuine Hong Kong flavor (though a slightly larger standalone portion would be even better). Among all the fried rice dishes I’ve had in the UK, their Yang Chow fried rice is by far the most authentic and Hong Kong-style, packed with plenty of large prawns. Great value, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. If you want to try traditional Hong Kong food, this is a must-visit. Will definitely return!”

“Wow! We ate here last night for the first time and it was genuinely top class in every way. The food was absolutely incredible, with a brilliant and varied menu. Everything we had was delicious and you could tell a lot of care had gone into it. The staff were just as good: friendly, attentive, welcoming and great chat throughout. Such a fantastic atmosphere and an all-round amazing experience. An absolute must-go. Will definitely be back!”
