About Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn
Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn is a pub in Banbury at 47 Parson's St, set in an old, historic building with wood panelling, exposed ceiling beams and an open fire. The Globe room is associated with Oliver Cromwell, a link to the building's past that visitors can see for themselves. Cask ales are on the bar, including Hook Norton on tap, and local cider is poured alongside. The kitchen serves British food, and Sunday lunch is part of the offering. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the Hook Norton beers and local cider on tap, in an old pub with real history, including a globe room. A Friday night is described as lively, and one mentions a Sunday lunch. The food is the caveat: one says it has turned disappointing lately, with dishes seeming kept warm, and another notes only expensive continental lagers.

“My favourite pub in Banbury! Traditional old pub with fantastic beer selection and home cooked food. Great to see such a high standard that recent landlord is maintaining! Keep uk the good work and can’t wait to visit again :)”

“A proper (genuinely) old English pub with real history. Good local beers but only very expensive continental lagers which might explain why it was nearly empty for Friday lunch.”

“Lovely historic cosy pub in Banbury - it's great for a drink and they have local Hook Norton beer and cider on tap. Their globe room is very cool which Oliver Cromwell supposedly used and there is also a lovely beer garden with plenty of seating for the summer. Food can be a bit hit and miss - we've lived near Banbury several years now and at first when we'd come in there was a very organised and friendly lady behind the bar and we always had a good meal. This lady in particular was great as she saw my partner's mum was interested in the building and took us into the globe room and told us the history. I've not seen her in a while though - staff are still friendly but maybe not quite as on it as this lady was. Lately when we've been in for food it's been a bit more disappointing, with some things feeling like they've been kept warm for a while. Maybe it depends what you get and the time of day. Would still come back though as such a great atmosphere.”
