Customer Review Summary
The restored former church building draws the most comment, with reviewers describing gorgeous high ceilings with domes, Greek and Roman statues and art on the walls, and calling the place impressive and very clean. Food follows close behind. One diner calls a warm duck, watermelon and Cajun salad the best meal they have had there, another finds the chicken burger and chips delicious, and a third calls the food a solid eat, well seasoned. Servers are described as polite and friendly, and one family says the response to a mistaken meal was excellent. Groups on the pre-order Christmas menu report quick service, though one party found pork loin replaced by beef without notice. Others mention a very loud room in the evening, a burnt burger bun, a menu that could be more varied, and a bar staffer who checked a phone while a customer decided. One cash payer was asked for the exact amount because the till lacked change.

“Had a great family meal. There was an error with a meal served but there response to the problem was excellent. Happy to revisit in the future.”

“Good effort to be a little better. At least not frozen and heated up. Looks to be freshly made. Disappointed the burger bun was burnt.”

“Decent prices but paying with cash can pose a problem. Had to have the correct amount as apparently there wasn't enough change in the till, luckily I always use cash so had plenty of change. If management can't float a till properly and have change available for the staff then maybe they shouldn't be management. 10 years running pubs gives me enough experience to know how it's done. Then the bar staff who decided to do something else whilst my wife decided what she wanted. A good bar member would have engaged and assisted instead of walking away to do another job,or check his phone as he did, which is very rude.”

“Very interesting building. The food and service were good. The roses on the tables were lovely. The menu could have been a bit more varied but the food was fine.”

“Booked for a group of 19 for corporate festive meal. Food in general was really good, service was quick, staff were very polite and friendly, only complaint would be a change in the menu without notification. As we had a festive meal, food had to be pre-ordered in advance, pork loin was a popular choice, on the night pork was replaced by beef but no warning or notification was given. Other than that, food was great. Word of warning - the venue is very loud between approx. 17:15-21:30, not an issue as we felt it added to the atmosphere.”
