About Vegan Earth

Vegan Earth is an owner-operated vegan restaurant on Kyle Street in Ayr, set in a small café space where the kitchen turns out an extensive all-plant menu. The list covers a full vegan breakfast, French toast served with "bakon" and a lineup of different burgers, with a daily special that has included a smoky seitan Cajun pasta. Afternoon tea is available with homemade snacks, and the drinks side runs to options like a clean green smoothie alongside iced ginger cake. The owners are on the floor and take the time to walk guests through allergens, including dairy cross-contamination concerns, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary

The draw that reviewers raise most often is the sheer range of a fully vegan menu, with several single visits stretching across breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and cake, and that breadth is the first thing many mention. The afternoon tea and its spread of homemade snacks stand out, alongside named plates like a smoky seitan Cajun pasta, the full breakfast with "bakon", french toast, a no-egg-mayo sandwich, and the iced ginger cake and clean green smoothie that several call out specifically. The owners are described repeatedly as kind, lovely, and attentive, and a few reviewers note the relief of dining somewhere with no worry about dairy cross-contamination. No recurring complaint runs through the reviews, and nothing in the feedback is hedged or qualified. Several mention travelling from elsewhere and express a wish to return, which several frame as a reason to pop in when passing through Ayr.

“Wow, what a gem of a place. The no egg mayo sandwich was absolutely delish, as were the cakes and green juice. Will definitely be back!”

“The afternoon tea was more than enough to feed my partner and I, moreover all the different homemade snacks were absolutely delicious! Also, the clean green smoothie was to die for. The owners were also very kind and lovely! Would high recommend to pay them a visit.”

“A wee cafe in Ayr is the last place you'd expect to find a menu this extensive.. and this good! We're talking proper restaurant-level food IMO, not just cafe fare. Multiple different burgers (actual different burgers, not just the same thing with a different sauce), a daily special, and enough variety that choosing becomes genuinely stressful in the best way as a vegan 😂 I went for the special, a smoky seitan Cajun pasta, and it was so filling I skipped dinner. That never happens when you are a wee guzzler like me! The owners were lovely and attentive. This wee place is exactly what's great about small Scottish businesses. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the rest of that beast of a menu!!!”
  • James Holcomb
“Small place filled with awesome cruelty free delicious food!! Better than any place we have in California. 🪷”
