Customer Review Summary

Muffins are the main draw, with reviewers praising the soft, fruit-filled Eton Mess muffin topped with buttercream and meringue, and one noting that all muffins are included in the afternoon deal. Coffee comes close behind, described as a smooth cappuccino and a good flat white, with one regular saying the welcome converted them from Costa. A ham and cheese panini is called super fresh and toasted perfectly, and the range of cakes, pastries and savoury items gets a nod. Service is the most divided point. Several find the staff friendly and the place clean, while others describe short, unfriendly or defensive staff, including one who felt dismissed after raising a concern about an oat milk drink that tasted unusual. Food complaints are specific too: an almond croissant that was stale and hard, tired mini eggs on a cake, and a Dubai chocolate shake that did not taste as it should. Some like the outside seating, though one compares the inside to a canteen. The strongest negative detail is the stale croissant that left one customer vowing not to return.

“During my visit, I placed an order with two staff members who processed the request separately. I found the female staff member’s demeanor to be unprofessional, sarcastic, and condescending. Regarding the beverage requested with oat milk due to an allergy, the drink had an unusual taste. When I inquired about this, the staff appeared defensive and dismissive, insisting it was oat milk; consequently, I could not consume the beverage due to safety concerns.”

“Roxy is just phenomenal… as soon as I walk through the door she says flat white to go to whoever’s making coffee. I’ve been in 6 times so it’s not like I’m a long term customer. She laughs, chats and so welcoming while she’s doing my order, she has converted me from Costa. I went in on Monday to grab a coffee and I didn’t really even want one! Beautifully clean spotless and friendly team… thanks Roxy for greeting me with a smile while I’ve been going through a really really rough time!”

“Just spent £7 on a coffee and a almond croissant in the Derbion branch, staff lady was very short and mumbled something behind my back about not asking her to have it take out and short with her staff member, coffee okay however just took a bite into my almond croissant…. So disappointed absolutely stale and hard as if it has been sat there for a week. What a waste of £7 will not be returning”

“Very good. The food is good. My wife & I both had a ham & cheese panini, which was super fresh & toasted perfectly, good coffee too. A fairly wide range of cakes/pastries are available as well as savoury items. A young staff offer good service in this busy eaterie.”
