About The Craftsman Company
On Guild St in Aberdeen, The Craftsman Company operates as a coffee shop that also functions as a bar, with coffee, craft beer, and cocktails served from the same counter, where orders are placed and paid for on arrival. The drinks list runs to 82 items, including a Latte and a Mocha alongside the beer and cocktail selections, with vegan and vegetarian options also on the menu. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs make the space workable for families with young children. It opens daily, and reservations are recommended. The bar also pours a selection of craft beers from local and nearby breweries.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Scottish breakfast, with poached eggs, back bacon, black pudding, and sausages praised alongside sides like baked beans and roasted tomato. Close behind, brunch dishes draw repeat mentions, including butter beans on sourdough, a Mexican bread toast, and a "pot pie" described as flavorful despite being simple. Coffee comes up consistently too, from a mocha made with white chocolate to a caramel latte and scones with cream and jam, and several note the beer selection, cocktails like a gingerbread espresso martini, and a charcuterie board large enough for four. Staff warmth is repeated often, with multiple diners naming individual servers who made them feel at home. Complaints are scattered but real: one reviewer felt the "craft" beer lineup had shifted toward standard lagers, another found a matcha latte inconsistent between visits, and one diner called a recent coffee shop award undeserved after being unhappy with a potato dish and otherwise-fine service. One visitor also described a mix-up over payment involving a flustered staff member. Several say they returned within days of their first visit.

Highlights
“We curate a selection of artisan coffees, craft beers, and simple but wholesome dishes within a café culture environment, morning or evening. The segregation of coffee and beer has been long-standing in our city, but The Craftsman has set out to reunite these long-lost-lovers in an atmosphere which is unique to our brand. We are passionate about providing a city-centre platform to independent coffee and beer brewers; where their crafts can be experienced and enjoyed by fellow enthusiasts. As an independent business we can respond very quickly to what our customers want, and this gives us a lot of scope for exciting special editions So pop past, say hi and see what we have to offer.”
