About Maxi Beauty Supply
On Flower Valley Shopping Center in Florissant, Maxi Beauty Supply operates as a walk-in beauty supply store open every day of the week. Shoppers browse the shelves and bring items to the counter without needing an appointment, and the daily hours make it easy to stop in at different points in the week. One policy to keep in mind before buying is that returns are issued only as store credit rather than a cash refund, so it helps to be sure of a purchase before checking out. The store's straightforward, no-appointment format suits quick trips for restocking beauty supplies.

Customer Review Summary
Complaints dominate this pattern, most centering on refusal to refund or exchange items, including a hair bundle one reviewer says staff verbally agreed could be returned, a leaking perfume, and hair oil with broken seals across bottles. Several describe a strict store-credit-only policy and staff who were dismissive or preoccupied with their phones at the register, with more than one shopper noting employees ignored them or acted put out by checkout requests. One reviewer also reports staff mocking a customer over tornado damage. A few still return because the shelves carry items other beauty supply stores lack, and two visitors single out clerks who were kind and helpful despite feeling overwhelmed by the selection. One longtime customer highlights the store's rewards program as a recurring reason to keep shopping there. Overall the recurring throughline is inventory that keeps people coming back paired with repeated frustration at the register and an unbending no-refund stance on opened or defective goods.

“They sell fake Nee Doh and have a no refund policy. My daughter’s feelings were so hurt when she opened it, that we drove all around until we found a store that was not sold out. On top of that, their fake ones are more expensive that Walgreens real ones😒 …”

“I live out of town!! I purchased $40 bundle at this business, contingent to the fact that I would get a refund. I confirmed with the lady that was light in color (Not Black lady) before I made a purchase that I would be able to refund the unused hair. I was told by the lady that yes I could return the hair as long as it was not open. Five hour later, I return to the store and was told that I'm unable to return the product for monies paid but only store credit. I pleaded with the lady at the store named Taya and she said she reached out to the owner Sue who was out of the country and was told that she was unable to refund me my money for an unopened package that was purchased for hours prior. The owner stated that she is aware of the lady who gave me miss leading information earlier and she would talk to that lady but still refuse to honor what her co-worker told me face to face. Again I live out of town and was unable to return the product that I paid money for that was unneeded and unused. I was told that I could get store credit for a store that I do not live nearby”

“Order somewhere online like Sam’s beauty or even TikTok. It’s cheaper, you don’t have to leave your house, better options, and your day won’t be ruined. Their attitudes are terrible. So terrible that it’s contagious. I walk in and they’re making fun of some guy that lost his house in the recent tornados. Then, I’m literally standing at the cash register, said hello and the girl ignores me completely and keeps playing on her phone. So, I go to the other side to check my balance. Terrible attitudes. Go get 3 things to spend my store credit, come back literally standing at the cashier while they talk to eachother, not even acknowledging that I’m standing there. So I go “Can I check out please” and she goes “yeah, we’re doing something” So I continue waiting while they entertain themselves on their phone. Still being rude. Finally get checked out, stuff being all thrown around, attitudes still on 10. Awful customer service. Will not be back. Haven’t been in here in a year and I’m not shocked to see the attitudes have not been fixed.”

“The customer service at the register is lacking but they always have what I need so i go with low expectations. The girls at the front put on press on nails, stay in their phone, and will not put much effort into telling you where something is so it makes it take a lot longer to shop.”
