About Alchemist Coffee Project
Alchemist Coffee Project is a coffee-focused cafe in Los Angeles, operating out of a New Orleans-style setting at 698 S Vermont Ave Ste 103. Much of its character comes from a coffee-forward program that also supplies bulk beans alongside a selection of baked goods. The Flat White and the Avocado Truffle Toast anchor the drink and food sides, while a drink called Perfect rounds out the menu. The space supports both laptop work and takeaway orders. A community board hangs inside for local postings.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently praise the coffee quality, with the Misugaru latte singled out as one of the best some have ever had, alongside recurring mentions of the Spanish latte, brown sugar latte, and matcha latte. Pastries also draw strong enthusiasm, with the ham and cheese croissant described as incredibly flaky, the honey cake compared to a moon pie, and the Basque cheesecake and matcha biscuits called delicious. The space earns repeat visits for its relaxed, productive atmosphere, plentiful indoor seating, power outlets, and free Wi-Fi, making it a popular study and work spot. A few reviewers note practical drawbacks: the parking situation in the strip mall lot is described as sketchy or awful, with valet parking that some find off-putting, and a handful mention price concerns, including one who found the oat milk latte overpriced for its size. A couple of reviewers report diluted or lukewarm drinks, though one notes staff kindly remade a Spanish latte when asked. Several suggest the shop over chain coffee shops, and one reviewer recommends the "for here" ceramic mug option for a better experience.

“Great spot to study and work. Nice ambiance. The music is not obnoxiously loud. I had a hot matcha. It was excellent. I got it sweetened but it was modestly sweet, as it should be. I was able to find street parking for free because I came on a Sunday but the parking situation looks sketchy. A very small strip mall lot with lots of businesses. It seems like it’s valet parking.”

“Found this super cool, modern cafe in K-Town called Alchemist Coffee Project. The coffee is really good, and they have a great selection of biscuits and pastries. I tried the matcha biscuits and they were delicious. The decor is a mix of interesting and slightly 'weird', and they have some unique merch for sale too.”

“Parking is convenient, and the coffee is pretty decent. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe and isn’t too crowded, which makes it a good spot to come with a group. I ordered a Spanish latte, but it came out lukewarm, so I asked if they could make it hotter and they kindly remade it. The coffee leans a bit on the acidic side. Overall, not a bad coffee shop to stop by.”

“Slammed the Misugaru latte in record time. I really tried to pace myself, but this is one of the best coffees I've ever had. I'm currently sitting inside, debating on ordering one to-go just to have a "walking home" version. I'm unwell. The coffee isn't. Indoor seating was plentiful.”
