Quick info
About Woodthorpe Spice
Woodthorpe Spice is an Indian restaurant on Moorcroft Road in York, run as a sit-down room with a takeout option alongside. The kitchen covers the familiar Indian spread, with curries and biryanis as the main draw alongside a smaller grill selection. The dining room takes walk-ins through the week, and the team brings out a birthday cake with candles, music and disco lights for anyone celebrating. As the restaurant does not serve alcohol, guests are welcome to bring their own, with glasses provided at the table. Parking outside is plentiful, and diners register their car through a QR code from the restaurant to keep the spaces free for customers. The setup makes it a relaxed option for both sit-down meals and takeaway collections in the Woodthorpe area.

“Me and my better half decided to treat ourselves to an Indian meal and searched online. First time we have been here. Parking is plentiful but just make sure you get a QR code from the restaurant to register for free parking. Owner was friendly and approachable as were the staff. The food was excellent and atmosphere very relaxed. They do not serve alcohol but you can take your own and they supply the glasses which is a really good idea. All in all a really good night with great food and lovely atmosphere. We will certainly be returning and would certainly recommend anyone to give this place a try. I doubt you will be left disappointed. 5* all the way as far as we are concerned.”
