About New Sunflower Chinese Takeaway
Found at 71 Salvington Rd in Worthing, New Sunflower Chinese Takeaway is a Chinese takeaway where customers place their orders at the shop. The kitchen cooks chow mein, duck with pancakes and sweet-and-sour chicken balls, so the menu covers noodles, a pancake dish and a sauced chicken dish. Chips are served with curry sauce for anyone who wants something other than rice or noodles. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply over whether the food is fresh and tasty. Those who rate it highly describe fresh, not greasy cooking and generous portions. They single out the chips, called the best they have had from a takeaway, with a sharp but fragrant curry sauce. They also name a chow mein with so much meat and a barbecue-flavoured smoked chicken. One long-time regular says every other Chinese in Worthing has disappointed them by comparison. The complaints are just as concrete and nearly as frequent. Several call the food tasteless or bland, with thin, runny sauces. Others say it arrived cold or lukewarm, seemed reheated, or was very oily. Specific misses include tough sweet-and-sour chicken balls, dry spring onion garnish with the duck and pancakes, a curry with uncooked pieces of onion, and shrimps that tasted strange. A few call it expensive for the quality. Ordering and delivery draw praise, and food is often ready very quickly, though some of those fast orders were the ones that arrived cold and seemingly cooked earlier.

“Tried this for first time. Ordering was easy. Delivery reasonable. Food was plentiful but absolutely tasteless with two different meals. The sauces were very thin & runny. We will not be returning or recommending”

“Great value for money! The portions were generous, and the taste was exceptional. Definitely worth every penny!”

“Good service on ordering and delivery but food of a very poor standard. Curry contained lozds of uncooked pieces of onion and shrimps tasted "strange". Threw half of it directly to the waste bin and won't be using Sunflower in the future. Shame as food previously has been good. Time to try somewhere else. Price too high too!”

“Ordered duck with pancakes + sweet-and-sour chicken balls chicken was very tough. The garnish for the spring onions for the duck was very dry when we complained they said it's all cut fresh but it was like straw so it's almost impossible to be fresh. The food was lukewarm taste quite bland most of the area about six weeks ago, Small cup of sweet-and-sour sauce for 10 chicken balls most places do a larger cup very expensive with poor quality”
