  “Lovely warm welcome into a really quirky indian resturant, proud to be a part of British History. The decor is a mix of an old British Antique collector and a modern Indian reaturant which is what makes this place different from the usual Indian restuarant. We had our first drink downstairs, good selection of beers & spirits, and our order was taken. Seated upstairs to enjoy our meal and our poppadoms were served with a delicious selection of chutneys, mint/ chilli sauce and onions. Starters were promptly delivered, piping hot and obviously freshly cooked. Chicken pakoras were tasty, crispy on the outside, juicy in the middle. I can't recall the official name of the dish but the tomatoes stuffed with lamb mince - amazing! Prawn biriyani, nice and light not too heavy with spice but still very flavourful and the vegetable curry a great accompliment. Chicken tikka dansak was beautiful, perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Overall a brilliant Indian resturant, lots of choice, friendly and attentive staff all at a very fair cost. Will be frequenting more regularly! Thank you ☺️”

  “We had dinner here on Saturday evening. They have a car park and I could see they were busy. We were greeted politely when we entered the building. The staff appeared to rushing around very quickly, not sure why! Everyone appeared stressed. We were shown to a table upstairs. The interior is very dark especially upstairs, the tables and chairs are situated very close together. The best place to sit is in the window upstairs that seats two people, if you want daylight or some lighting. We more or less squeezed ourselves around the table next to a balcony, we had to move over we were next to the kitchen, to allow space for the piping hot food to come out on trolleys from the kitchen. I could see all the food that was being served the downside to sitting so close to the kitchen is my clothes and hair smelt of the food. The seats were uncomfortable, the cushions on the chairs were flat that made the chairs hard to sit on. The food came and it was freshly cooked and piping hot, we had lamb dansak, butter chicken a keema curry with pilau rice and two butter naan breads. I was given some yoghurt just in case my dansak was too hot and spicy, but it was fine. All the food was nice especially the naan bread. No complaints! They only do particular soft drinks i.e Apple and Raspberry J20, no juices. The price was ready for three of us, they appear to be very popular in the area, which is a good thing for them. The food was good, the service was a little rushed, but the were polite and accommodating. The interior is filled with all manner of ornaments and pictures It's difficult to say what to make of it! Although the food was good, the darkness of the interior isn't for me, not sure what it would be like in the winter, as they had very little lighting inside, during the summer to see what you were eating.”
