  “Fantastic little place, helped by the good weather we sat outside to eat our meals. I had the regular cod and chips, my partner had the prawn taco Both were really good Has a restaurant as well as a takeaway away plus has a licenced bar to wash down your meal There is plenty of seating to cater for bookings and walk ins Very close to the sea front”

  “This was a lovely treat - My wife took me here on a Friday lunchtime. The sun was out and it was a beautiful afternoon. The food was delicious and it truly felt like a special occasion. We had the crab fries, ndjuda sausage n fries and tried the fish tacos. For the price, they were very decent indeed and I am pleased that I had the warewithal to take a photo. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.”

  “Whole family loved this place. Lovely weather helped, and the outdoor picnic tables are in a sun-trap. We had variations of battered squid, fish tacos and chips. Really tasty and a very worthwhile visit. Service is quick and easy- love the electronic board with timings on. Ours came a lot quicker than expected. Finding a table was trickier as it is so popular, however! The outside bar was a really good idea.”

  “We happened across this wonderful fish restaurant. Amazing! Fish & prawn tacos, fresh Oysters, crab dirty fries, battered calamari. Tender, tasty, fresh. Great service. We sat outside in the sunshine. Thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant food. Washed down with a refreshing pint of Hawkstone Lager.”

  “What a fantastic experience- staff are professional and food is excellent. Lola and Gary were brilliant. Not to mention the scenic location. Family celebration of my wife’s 60th birthday will be a cherished memory. Thank you Fish Cottage ❤️”

  “Great find! Small fish restaurant also doing takeaway. For eat in, the menu is varied and good value, based on the cod and chips (with essential curry sauce!) and fish tacos. Staff were friendly, attentive and were clearing and cleaning tables quickly.”

  “This place is grand! Had the pleasure to have a fish cake, which was nothing to cry home about, but the crab loaded fries, and especially the prawn tacos.... Worth every penny, they were amazing compositions of salt, fat and acid. I'd have the tacos every week if I lived nearby!”

  “One of those effortlessly good coastal spots in Sandsend that you’re so pleased to stumble across. The outside terrace is really lovely, with an easy, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The fish and chips are genuinely excellent (crisp batter, perfectly flaky fish – no notes). We only stopped for a quick takeaway and light lunch, but the menu feels thoughtfully put together and nicely varied. It’s the kind of place you could happily build an afternoon around.”

  “Wonderful cafe for lunch. We had fresh fish tacos, cauliflower tacos which was wonderful for a vegetarian option. They were so tasty. Paired with a glass of rose - was a wonderful meal. Will definitely visit again!”

  “I always visit Fish Cottage when in the area. The food is always beautiful and the staff are friendly and attentive. Yesterday I had the half lobster with garlic butter, fries and salad and it was cooked to perfection. Try to leave room for pudding as these are perfect too...the apple and pear crumble was delicious with a really crunchy topping and my husband raved about the forced rhubarb crème brulé”
