About Dough & Brew

On Brook St in Warwick, Dough & Brew is a pizza restaurant built around a wood-fired oven. Its pizzas start with sourdough bases that are hand stretched, and Lady Nancy is one of the named pies on the list. Garlic dough balls come as a starter or a side, and tiramisu closes the menu as the dessert. Gluten-free pizzas are made with the kitchen's own gluten-free dough. Beyond pizza, the kitchen turns out brunch dishes and buttermilk fried chicken, and local beers are on tap. Families get a screen of their own, with movies shown on a big screen and headphones for kids, so children can watch while the adults eat. The restaurant also sells its own T-shirts.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often return for the sourdough pizza, praising a base that is crisp on the outside, light and soft from the wood oven. The Lady Nancy with generous mushrooms is a repeat order, while others single out the Clark with pulled pork and a duck and hoisin pizza. A chicken BBQ pizza with added maple bacon also gets praise. Garlic dough balls and tiramisu come up repeatedly as favourite starter and dessert, and one parent calls the in-house gluten free dough the best they have had in a restaurant. Reviewers describe a relaxed room with outdoor seating, movies on a big screen for kids, local beers and friendly staff. A couple suggest booking because the small venue is always busy. One critical reviewer found the waiting staff sulky and the cocktails warm and poorly made, and after complaining was handed a shot glass of syrup to improve the drinks themselves.

“Awesome pizza parlour, loved the fact that it served alternatives as well but very good pizza. Only downside is that it’s the only one in the country (according to google maps) 😂 got myself at shirt too👍”

“Dough & Brew is, without a doubt, my favourite pizza place in Warwick. I moved to Warwick after graduation, and this was the very first place where I treated myself to pizza. Since then, it has quietly become my little celebration spot. Every milestone, every small win, every moment worth marking, somehow ends up here, even if those moments don’t come around too often. In fact, anytime someone visits me from another city or country, I make it a point to bring them here. It’s become a bit of a ritual. My go-to order is always the Lady Nancy pizza. The mushrooms are generous, flavourful, and absolutely delicious, and the cheese never disappoints. Sophia is a brilliant choice too. Their sourdough base deserves its own mention too, crisp on the outside, light, soft, and somehow never too heavy. You leave full, but not in that regretful “I’ve made poor decisions” kind of way. I’m also obsessed with their garlic dough balls, and every now and then I’ll treat myself to the skin-on fries or potatoes on the side. During summer, the outdoor seating is lovely, especially when the sun decides to make an appearance. But even indoors, the atmosphere feels warm, cozy, and comfortable. One thing I’d definitely recommend is making a reservation because it can get busy. The staff have always been incredibly kind and generous, and honestly, they’ve never disappointed me. If you’re in Warwick and love sourdough pizza, this place is an easy recommendation.”

“Fantastic pizza in a great setting. It's more Trendy than Traditional but the kids meal was great and the best Gluten Free pizza I've ever had in a restaurant. Respect to a restaurant that makes their of GF dough rather than charging extra for a giant cracker with cheese on. I can't wait to return.”

“Popped in for a beer and a pizza, and loved it. The staff are friendly, and you can tell that they really care about the product. I had the Clark, because pulled pork is a rarity on a pizza, yet whenever I see it, I get it. Though I personally am not a fan of the floppy-in-the-center pizza, it is still excellent in terms of taste, and the sourdough crust really shines. Beer selection was good. Don't forget to buy their t-shirt, too!”

“Dough & Brew used to be a reliably excellent local independent restaurant. Now it has sulky, scruffy waiting staff, warm poorly-made cocktails called ‘C*CK’, very average food & our table had several ants crawling over it (indoors). A great loss for Warwick. (We complained about the cocktails and were given a shot glass of syrup to improve them ourselves)”
