Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, praising generous portions, quality and low prices, with a Sunday lunch described as brilliant. One reviewer calls it the best pub food they have had for portion size and value, and another says the meals were freshly cooked, though there was a bit of a wait. Close behind are the friendly staff and the big beer garden, which several mention on sunny Saturdays. Diners also like the choice of beers and the live music, and a few note that the pub is dog friendly, with one saying their dog was welcome. Several describe the pub as quiet on Saturday afternoons, and one says a table for six was arranged easily. No recurring complaints appear beyond that one wait for food. One reviewer says the cheap meals mean a drink feels affordable, and another says they would eat there all the time if they lived nearby.

“Called here on an overnight visit to Thirsk with friends. Saturday teatime ,was fairly quiet and staff welcomed us nicely . Arranged a table for 6 of us , we all ordered food & drinks. Service was good 👍 a bit of a wait for food but it was obviously freshly cooked & every meal was EXCELLENT! We were pleasantly surprised at the quality & quantity of the food we had ,especially at the reasonable prices ,it really was superb 🥰 thankyou & we'd definitely recommend 🥰”

“What an absolute gem. Stopped here for lunch after visiting the area and it's probably the best pub food we've ever had for quality, portion size and VFM. How this place was so quiet on a sunny 🌞 Saturday in Spring beggars belief. If I lived in the area I'd eat here all the time”
