Customer Review Summary
Price is the recurring caveat. Reviewers call it pricey, with one finding it excessive, though another says you get what you pay for. One notes the lack of table cloths at that cost, with two tables pushed together leaving guests straddling the seam. Another says harsh evening sun left a partner sunburnt. Several suggest booking is advisable, and one reviewer says a long wait to secure a table was rewarded with a birthday lunch for eight that exceeded expectations.

“A unique experience and great food. We used the chain ferry too and from the restaurant, which is what separates this experience from most others. Our reservation was in the evening, the dinner menu was great, the portion sizes were generous, and the food was skilfully made. The staff were happy and having a good time. My only criticism was there’s no table cloths, and we had two tables pushed together to seat six, which means two of use were straddling the seam - that might sound odd but this is due to it being more of a lunch in the sun place during the day. Luckily the food and service made up for this. There is a great view of the bay in the day, but this is quickly lost to the evening. From a pricing standpoint, it’s not unreasonable, but at this moderate cost, I would expect table cloths. An overall good experience and worth doing, the chain ferry makes it a different experience.”

“Outstanding location a few steps from the chain ferry and facing the Poole harbour and so perfect for watching the sunset. The staff are upbeat and friendly. All of which gives a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. The food is good, essentially fish and seafood simply handled. The only downside is the price - excessive.”

“Just superb! We had booked a table for lunch and every course exceeded our expectations. We were a party of 8 celebrating a 50th and ordered a variety of dishes from the menu- every single one tasted amazing and the presentation and care with cooking was outstanding. The views speak for themselves but the food, wine and service just made for an incredible experience. Thank you so much .”

“Great setting and wonderful service. Being on holiday with my dog during an unexpected heatwave was quite stressful, but the team were amazing in moving my table outdoors so that she would be more comfortable, and even allowed her to jump down from the terrace onto a little shady patch of grass below to cool down while I dined. The food was exceptional and the place had a great social vibe with incredible sunset views. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back.”
