Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, from cask style ales to craft styles, with tasty IPAs and Pale Ales and a 50l keg of Hop Drop that suited a wedding crowd, and one reviewer loved the ciders. The canal side setting comes close behind, described as relaxed enough that one reviewer lost hours there, with a terrace and garden and plenty of seats and space. Food draws praise for a customised pizza, breakfast baps and the green eggs and ham, and the staff are called friendly and welcoming. Two reviewers held wedding receptions here and describe the team as accommodating, with the balcony bar mentioned. The caveats are specific: one reviewer calls the food merely alright with small portions, another found the vegetarian sausage sandwich depressing, and a third notes the gravelly floor outside makes a walker frame difficult to manoeuvre. One visitor, finding the tables inside reserved by locals, still got a seat but had to wait for people to leave before moving outside to enjoy the weather.

“Nice little Tap Room by the canal. Big car park and lots of space inside and food. Lovely terrance and garden”

“Nice place (loved their ciders!) but the food is merely alright. Also the portion sizes aren’t very big. The green eggs and ham was the standout.”

“Quite an established Tap Room on the bank of the canals, and a good place to stop for a sample of their beers and the food was also good. I sampled a couple of their tasty IPAs and Pale Ales, to wash down a customised pizza, which was delicious. Plenty of seats & parking too. Lots of the tables had been reserved showing this is a popular place with the locals but we had no trouble finding a seat inside, although had to wait for people to leave to move outside to enjoy the weather.”

“I've been to this brewery maybe 5 or 6 times now over the past year when visiting from Tucson, Arizona. It is a must stop for me whenever I visit Stroud. The ambiance is great and the service / staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble and always delivered with a smile. I really enjoy the different styles of beers they have, from cask style ales to the more "craft-style" beer. I've only ever eaten breakfast here (the baps are great) but all the food looks well prepared and fresh. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Additionally, you can access the brewery from the canal path if you happen to have strolled here. This is just how a brewery / bar / restaurant should be. Almost makes me want to move to Stroud!”

“A really warm, friendly and cosy place with a great atmosphere. We stopped by for a beer and ended up spending a lovely evening there. The staff were welcoming, the beers were great, and the whole place had a very relaxed and authentic vibe. Definitely one of those places that makes you want to come back again. Highly recommended if you’re around Stroud 🍻”
