Customer Review Summary

Reviewers mostly single out the steak, with the ribeye named by a regular family and several others calling it great. Staff come across as lovely and friendly, and one reviewer urges ordering the sharing platter. The roast dinner also gets praise. The criticism is specific: three ribeyes arrived dried out after a long wait, and the manager blamed the outdoor lighting. Another found the truffle mac and cheese tasteless.

“My family and I usually visit here every other week, my father is a massive steak lover, and the ribeye has always been reliable and delicious. Naturally, all three of us ordered the ribeye again today. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of our usual experiences. After waiting for about 30 minutes, our food arrived, and all three steaks were completely dried out. While they were indeed cooked to medium as requested, the meat itself had a fundamental issue. It tasted as though it had been improperly defrosted in a way that stripped all the moisture from the beef before it was even cooked. When we brought this up with our waiter and the manager, they instantly brushed us off. They flatly denied anything was wrong and blamed it on the outdoor lighting. We weren't looking for a refund and didn't have the time to wait for them to remake the dishes. it's just a real shame that they wouldn't even offer to double-check with the chef. We understand this is a very popular steakhouse, which is why we are regulars, but the unusually long wait, the severely dry steak, and the dismissive customer service really missed the mark today.”

“My favourite restaurant! The best place to go for top quality tasty food! Lovely staff! Can’t stress enough for people to go and order the sharing platter especially as it’s worth every penny!”

“Came here for my brothers 30th birthday meal, service was very slow. Food was alright but for the price not what it used to be. The truffle mac and cheese was a little tasteless almost like it was pre-made with a drizzle of truffle oil. Requested small ice cream with a candle/ sparkler in to sing happy birthday, nothing special at all but was charged £9 for a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream?! Considering our bill came to £360 I feel this was extremely tight fisted of them. We used to love Carnicero back when it was a couple of doors down but since the move it seems both food and service has gone downhill. Not impressed, we all agreed this isn’t somewhere we would return or recommend anyone to.”
