Quick info
About Hello Coffee
Hello Coffee is a coffee shop in Southampton at 7 St James Rd, with a fully halal menu that puts English breakfast and Indian street food side by side. The English breakfast of bacon, eggs and sausage comes with Indian flatbread, so both styles land on one plate. Lunch includes a jacket potato with tuna and beans. The drinks list covers cappuccinos, organic coffee with alternative milk, and hot chocolate. On the sweet side, the cakes and bakes include a vegan cheesecake, and vegan soup rounds out the plant-based choices. The owner works behind the counter, serves customers directly and makes snacks by hand. The shop is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Hot chocolate is the draw reviewers raise most, called the best by one diner and a favourite by another, and the owner made one first-time visitor a sample while they chatted. Close behind is the owner himself, described repeatedly as friendly, welcoming and passionate, someone who suggests menu options that did not disappoint. Coffee earns its own praise, with cappuccinos called rich and smooth, and one reviewer notes it is organic with alternative milk available. The food mixes English dishes and Indian street food: an English breakfast of bacon, eggs and sausage with Indian flatbread, a spring onion omelette wrap with homemade ketchup, and a jacket potato with tuna and beans. Others mention vegan soup, vegan cheesecake, a fresh cookie and brownie, a great selection of cakes and handmade snacks. One reviewer notes the menu is 100% halal, one calls the food reasonably priced, and two describe the seating as clean. Several say they will return, and one visitor came for a coffee before a walk and left after a long chat over that hot chocolate sample.
