Customer Review Summary

Vada pav is the item reviewers return to most, described as authentic and tasting just like India, and even a critical reviewer calls it the one reliable item. Close behind are the sabudana vada, misal, gajar halwa, samosa chaat and masala chai, which one reviewer calls refreshing, along with a no onion, no garlic menu one diner was glad to find. Many describe friendly, welcoming staff, good value for vegetarian food, and a clean, modern room. The complaints are specific. A regular says the paneer wrap has shrunk while the price stayed the same, and that pouches of chai are refused on some days. Another found the vada pav sabji seemed to be left over from the day before, one reports a hair in a Deliveroo order, and a takeaway pav bhaji came with very little bhaji. One reviewer found the newly introduced breakfast thali bland. Still, one diner was handed a complimentary tea.

“Absolutely terrible experience with SKVP on Slough High Street. I ordered food through Deliveroo, and after eating it I found a hair in my food. This is completely unacceptable and extremely unhygienic. I ordered expecting basic food hygiene and quality, but finding hair in my meal completely ruined the experience and made me lose my appetite. I will definitely think twice before ordering from this restaurant again. Very disappointing. The restaurant needs to take food hygiene and cleanliness much more seriously. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.”

“I’ve been a regular customer at SKVP for a while, and it’s disappointing to see the service and portions decline recently. The masala chai has always been good, and on some days they’re happy to give it to me in a pouch, but on other days they refuse and say pouches are only for Deliveroo orders. The inconsistency is frustrating, especially as a regular customer. I also order over the phone, go into the shop to pay, and wait in my car for the food. Previously, they would bring the order out to me, which was convenient and appreciated as there are a lot of parking wardens. Recently, even when the shop is practically empty, Mohak refuses to come outside and I’m expected to go in and collect it. I completely understand if staff are genuinely busy, but when the shop is quiet, it comes across as unnecessarily unhelpful. The paneer wrap is another disappointment. It used to be a decent-sized wrap, but the portion has noticeably shrunk while the price remains the same. It’s now so small you can finish it in a few bites. I’ve always had a good experience here, which is why these recent changes are particularly disappointing. I hope they can bring back the level of service and portion sizes they used to have.”

“Warm & Genuine SKVP has always been my favourite place for vada pav and chai! ❤️ Whenever I’m in London, this is an absolute must-visit for me. Their vada pav is simply the BEST! 😍❤️ This time, I was avoiding onion and garlic due to Sawan, and I was so happy to see that they have a special no onion, no garlic menu. It genuinely made my day! 🥹❤️ Thank you for always making the experience so special. Wishing SKVP lots of love, success and continued growth. Keep serving the amazing food! ✨❤️”

“Just took Pav Baaji on take away from Slough outlet, found less than 20% bajji in the container. And the taste is below the standards”

“Amazing menu for vegetarians. Great value and great taste. I go to loads of vegetarian restaurants but this place doesnt charge an arm and a leg for good vege food. Amazing service too, can tell our host cared about our experience there. Place was clean and modern. Highly recommend for vegetarians in the Slough area.”
