Customer Review Summary
That said, a notable share of reviews describe real problems. One diner reports a takeaway order with naan that tasted a day old, a biriani nearly devoid of meat, and a disappointing samosa, saying they would not order takeaway again. Another describes a potato curry sent back after one bite because it was inedible, with staff response left unresolved. Others note stale, hard desserts on a dessert platter despite a higher price, sullen service from a waiter, and difficulty getting gluten free information. A few also mention looping music and atmosphere disrupted by other diners. Despite these accounts, most reviewers who mention the curries and grilled dishes describe returning for them repeatedly.

“Extremely disappointing. We have eaten in this restaurant several times and it has always been good. We ordered take away and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had. Naan was probably from yesterday, biriani had almost no meat and was hard to distinguish from the plain rice and the somosa was embarrassing. Will definitely never order take away from this place again and, unfortunately, there’s no way we would consider visiting the restaurant either. I know this restaurant can do better than the terrible food they delivered, but it is too late for us as customers. I recommend you avoid this restaurant and certainly never order a take away.”

“Extremely poor experience. The potato curry was inedible and I stopped eating after one bite. I asked for the dish to be taken away because I genuinely could not eat it. Despite seeing that the meal was virtually untouched, the staff showed …”

“I'm very picky and know good food. This was a wonderful dining experience in every way... the food, the service, the atmosphere, the music, the cleanliness. I'm so happy that we found The Chutney House and I look forward to returning time and time again.”

“Chutney House in Windsor is a really great place to eat, offering both tasty food and nice presentation. As soon as the dishes arrive, you can see that a lot of care has gone into making them look good and taste even better. The food is full of flavour, especially the rich curries which have thick, tasty sauces that go perfectly with the meat. The grilled dishes are also very good, with a mix of soft, juicy pieces and slightly crispy edges that add extra taste for example the tokri chat. Fresh herbs and vegetables on top make the dishes look colourful and also add a bit of freshness. The meal also includes a fresh salad, which is light and crunchy. This works well with the stronger, spicier dishes and helps balance everything out. Chutney House is a great restaurant in Windsor. It offers delicious food, nice presentation, and a really enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal. Would I go again? Absolutely!”
