Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch is the draw reviewers raise most, with diners praising the beef on the bone and describing Sunday dinners as brilliant, one returning twice and booking again. Close behind is the friendly, helpful staff, who reviewers say sorted out dietary requirements, went above and beyond for a large birthday group and a pregnant guest, and make a speciality coffee to perfection. Several call the food good value, with a wide menu and prices described as really good. The outdoor play area and plenty of parking also get mentions from families. Reviewers do raise some complaints. One says the toilet area could do with a little TLC and needs checking more often, while another found the food quite lost on the plate, though it tasted alright. That same reviewer found the Epic Choctastic Sundae pricier than a near identical Chocolate Mania Sundae with slightly less ice cream. Several mention it gets busy and suggest booking, and one reviewer on a Saturday lunchtime was told where the large TVs were before a Man City and Man U match.

“We were served by Amy who is always smiling, helpful and never any different when we visit. She always makes our visits so much more pleasant. An asset to the company indeed ! She makes our speciality coffee to perfection. We usually visit as four friends and always enjoy our food, great value for money too.”

“Having never been to the Jolly Scotsman before, myself, father and elderly friend (94!) thought we'd give it a try. I can't tell you how wonderful it all was from start to finish. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We all had Sunday dinners and it was brilliant, including the service. We loved it so much, we've been back 2 times and are booked in for next Sunday. Plenty of parking and an outside area to entertain the kids. Definitely recommended!”

“We have visited this pub on numerous occasions, usually to meet up with family 😊 the food is always tasty with a decent selection and the service is fine. It could do with a little TLC in the toilet area and they need checking by staff more frequently to make sure they are up to standard. The outside space is great, especially with the finished play area for the children. Family friendly pub with good food and plenty of spaces to eat inside and out🙂”

“Went for a family meal, the food seemed quite lost on the plate. It tasted alright though. With the dessert, i got the Epic Choctastic Sundae, MIL got a Chocolate mania Sundae which was pretty much the same, with only a small amount of icecream less but was 1/3 of the price so would recommend going with the later. Cheap n cheerful.”
